As a VR veteran, I am happy to say that this is easily one of my favorite VR titles to date.

To summarize it; the game is kind analogous to Opus Magnum (for all you Zachtronics fans); you're challenged to solve production puzzles by using the fewest amount of looping recorded clones of yourself. Your movements and actions are recorded and looped to create one of the "Gardeners", robots that mimic your actions over a set loop of time. By strategically placing yourself and planning ahead, you can set up an assembly line of your past selves to produce whatever goal item that specific puzzle demands.

The game really forces you to think creatively about efficiency in a way that pushes a boundary for this type of game. There's a level of out-of-the-box thinking required that scratches the same itch as a lot of other 'production' genre games, but in a unique way that feels totally refreshing and fun to wrap your head around. Fans of Factorio and other factory genre games will feel familiar concepts but explored in a new light. The planning required is different from those games - instead of being restrained by space/layout or by technology, your production is limited by how efficient you can be with your own body. Later levels will have you planning out where to throw tools and such to get the most out of your time for each loop.

It's not perfect, and there are a handful of things that feel a little rough around the edges, but that's almost a given for any VR game and this one feels like a true breath of fresh air.

while the numbers are boosted by quest kids and the average wanderer who stumbles into VRChat, the real meat of this game lies with those who have spent thousands of hours dedicated to this game and it's community, and come back weekly or even daily to hang out with friends and strangers around the globe.

even with all that time though, the voices of those who truly love VRChat the most are also ignored the most. the developers do not care about what you care about. don't bother getting invested in a platform that ignores its most invested community members.

This latest season has introduced a bug where randomly in the middle of my match, seemingly half of my keys will stop working, preventing me from accessing my inventory, ulting, or using healing items. The rest of everything stays functional, so I can still move, shoot, and change weapons?

Literally what the ♥♥♥♥. This is a AAA game that makes millions of dollars every year and somehow stuff like this just keeps cropping up.

I've never broken anything playing VR games before, but I punched my monitor playing this. 10/10 would pay $0 to destroy $150 worth of equipment and make me re-evaluate my VR space again.

Took me 60 hours to beat this godforsaken game on the easy ending.

Why.

This is *the* modern roguelite. It's got replayability for days and continues to be uniquely exciting no matter how many times you play runs.

This game's campaign is essentially the modular vehicle building of Terra Tech with the explore-to-unlock gameplay loop of Grow Up. I LOVE it.

If you've played both of these games, or are familiar with them, you will know exactly what the campaign of Trailmakers entails.

Good simple fun, yet still challenging. You are forced to innovate and optimize your vehicle designs in order to reach the next part you'll need for the next challenge that faces you. Yet, when you finally make that car/forklift/boat/submarine/plane/helicopter/all of the above simultaneously, and it works flawlessly, it's beyond rewarding.
