I be quick with this.

Game is very thematic, performs well and poses a great challenge. I haven't survived on easy mode yet. Fun blend of city building, and tower defense with minimal RTS unit usage somewhere amidst all of the fun chaos of zombie apocalypse.

A honest city-builder game with limited scope. Game looks small, but you can easily put into tens of hours into one run, if you do not speed up time.

- Placement of buildings has clear learning curve, if you want to create an efficient city.
- Military side of things has its own gameplay mechanics. Nothing deep, but it serves it purpose!

Building walls higher and higher is oddly satisfying mechanic.

Huge plus for logistics, and the challenges it brings to the gameplay.

A solid recommendation. Value for your money.

I have personally played the whole franchise, basically my whole lifetime. I finally got into this one, and I am glad to say it is definately an improvement over Civ 5. I really like the district system, huge addition to city planning.

If you enjoy the core experience, the DLCs and leaders are definately worth it.

Thank you for such a great franchise.

The game's online aspects remain rather weak, and I personally don't see why this is pitched as online service game. Content is far from it being one?

I therefore change my review into negative.

edit// Original review below

Now that I have finished the story, and gotten to play the "end game" a bit, I dare to review this oddity as "recommend".

I commend Rocksteady for taking such a brave tone, and style with this storytelling. It is definately pretty unique in that side of things, and I do give it a value for providing such a different take. I don't rank this story above what Batman: Arkham series have, but it pulls its weight and gives me a new type of experience, which is valuable.
- as a sidenote, I do not value your modern lingo put in here. It took away immersion instead of adding up to it. Also big minus from breaking certain characters, Suicide Squad doesn't stay true to some characters. Lex Luthor is perfect example of this.

I enjoy the movement and traversal a lot, and it really makes the combat fun. The AI is good enough, both on enemies and friendlies. I wish you had done more on enemy variety, and it is odd thing to complain but really I mean it visually. You need more different looking enemies to keep this fresh, and make the game last longer. For a big studio, visual variety is easily achieved. Why didn't you?

Mission design is the weak side, and I really dare to claim that you had something happen with development cycle that took away lot of mission variety. You seriously didn't plan this set up all these years?

For a looter shooter, game has all needed item mechanics to survive. I personally thought build variety, and items are good! This is something that lot of live service releases have missed somehow.

I will continue to play, and see how I feel about the end game. Will also pay an eye towards future content, but I am worried what you will be doing with this game. You have lot of work to do in order for me to drop any money on top of the base cost. Feedback? Your cosmetic work is not up to its task. Microtransactions are far from appealing, and as of now, I won't buy them at all.

I would give this game "Neutral review" if there was an option.

The pace of the game is peaceful. The building is okay, stealth is rather mediocre... It is hard to describe, since it has lot of mechanics blended together, but frankly? None of them shine or are excellent which is the core reason to give this game thumbs down.

I just don't get into it. Hopefully you do. But I recommend waiting for a discount like I did, and yet came out disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoy this game. It is a solid sequel to the first game.

If there's something that I am mixed about, it is the inclusion of CIA and the mission design around them. It doesn't sit well with me for some reason. Whole concealment mechanic seems very phoned in. Personally think this game's strength rely in the action, and how rewarding it is - especially watching the cinematic replay.

My concern is the lack of campaign after 2,5 years of early access. The development, and work put in here seems to be slowing and dying. Lack of communication is a point of critique as well.

I highly recommend this rarity that gives us the joy of having hockey game on PC.

Personally I find the AI good enough - enemy AI especially makes the game "a game". I would say there are some ironing to do with the friendly AI, although I don't know maybe they do those mistakes by design, but they seriously position poorly at times. The game received an update after first day that already seems to address this.

Lot of reviews complained about progression (mainly the income of rubber - the game currency for unlocks). Now I personally think it is surprisingly wild amounts - I just made a run that lasted until the finals of Act III and gained 81 rubber with that. I unlocked more than half of the superstars. Considering that run took me about 90minutes - it is very generous amount as one more like that, and I'm soon to be finished with unlocking everything. Obviously for players it is awesome, and fun, but might be detrimental and decrease the amount of time people get out of the game.

Overall the action is great, and fun - the devs should be proud of what they have in here.

Some sort of player trading being simulated would be over the top cool thing to have in the future.

Cant believe I allowed my friends to hype me up for this.

Poor experience with a tedious grind to reach a very boring and bland end game. No, no...

Awesome puzzle game that is very simple by its rules and limitations, but at the same time there is this underlying challenge that requires finesse. Getting high score isn't that easy, took me 5 hours of playing before even getting above 5000 points! (I know this doesnt mean anything to you unless you have played)

Loop is simple: you have limited amount of tiles and you get more by placing perfect pieces and completing quests that come with tiles (and few from the map as they spawn through your game). Controlling the map space from the get go is important, as you want to start zoning different areas from the first moments! Keeping that up is the key, and also do not limit your options by for example colliding big city's space with your farmlands.

Great little game. Definately worth its price.

Hang freezes. Lobbies that never start to players leaving in pre-game lobby. Poor combat experience, which is extremely shallow and lacks any real skill outside little bit of aiming?

Basic Focus Home Interactive published game... This really needs some work to shine. Great concept, good looking. Game doesn't sound that excellent, very average. Godawful AI and dreadful progression.

I don't know if I can play this more. What a bomb of a release after all the waiting. Glad we got the game pass already on Store...
