Pros
+ Beautifully crafted world to explore and drive around in.
+ Great song selection, nice original ambient tracks to go with it.
+ Light hearted well written story, with some nicely done humour.
+ A VERY good selection of upgrades, weapons and customisation options.
+ Nice selection of collectables that actually have meaning to the story, and add collectable songs to further improve atmosphere.
+ Jack Blacks humour, which can add a nice silly light hearted feeling to a quite crushing brutal world. a nice balance.
+ A Unique blend of action button timing to call your car and do various other actions in game. (though it would have been nice if it were more challenging)
+ Looks great upscaled, textures have held up well.
+ Fove slider, 21:9 support out of the box, nice to see.

Cons
- Frame pacing issues, this can be fixed by manually capping the frame rate to 60 in nvidia control panel (highly recommended).
- The RTS mechanic for a few missions feel very unbalanced on higher difficulties, and can be quite tedious.
- Falling down the smallest of cliffs will instantly kill you, even if it's not out of bounds, i've never liked that.

Summary

Brutal Legend does everything it sets out to do, so damn well.
A world that's crafted like a metal/heavy metal album cover, and is great for both metal and non-metal fans alike.
Everything from soundtrack, to world building is very well done, and incredibly impressive for a game dating back almost 15 years (how time flies!).
talking of flying, there is a nice fix i will show below that can add the ability to fly outside of the rts missions, which can make collecting and exploring a lot more fun,
as well as save you from falling from cliff if you drive off.
Overall a very underrated, unique and brilliantly designed game, it comes well recommended, both on sale and not.

Story
☐ Amazing
☐ Average
☑ Low quality (quite generic, nothing carries weight in dialogue)

Bugs
☐ None
☑ A Couple (Sometimes* Glitching while climbing buildings, targeting weak point fails on occasion)
☐ Gamebreaking Bugs

Pros
-Visual comic style artwork and world design, quite pleasing to look at.
-A Nice List of Upgrades for the character.
-Sense of scale, when fighting Ravinii (giant orcs/ogres) is pretty cool, as you scale them to damage and kill them.
-The enemy designs are different from one another, though they attack in similar fashion.
-Randomly generated Mission objectives/locations (some missions not all).

Cons
-Story dialogue disposition pauses the gameplay, poor design. cutting the player from gameplay to sit through it.
-Dialogue has very little meaning, as the player really has no sense of place or introduction to the world lore, and setting.(not well enough at least)
-21:9 does not work, black bars both in cutscenes AND gameplay.. cutscenes i can understand but gameplay? artificial black bars are uneeded here! poor.
-Repetitive gameplay elements, (save civilians, kill certain creatures etc) little to no variation here.
-Menus for story mode, looks like more of a 'checklist', unlike most story mode menus. feels odd, similar to a mobile game. Very outdated style.
-Camera often messes up, when fighting a ravinii, getting glitched inside it, forcing you to relocate position.

Summery
A fun hack n' slash, dragons dogma style combat system, where you can scale larger enemies, though not nearly as good.
a fairly generic single hero vs enemies, with a supporting team style of story, something you've heard before so nothing really of note there.
I would say the animation in out of game cutscenes are really well made.
in regards to the camera, it really hinders the gameplay when trying to locate weakpoints, leading to some infuriating moments.
overall an average game, with some redeeming art styles, only recommended to purchase on deep sale.

+ Abilities add unique ways to tackle levels, especially the shield which traps bullets!
+

Cons
- Low fov (can be tweaked, check below).
- Voice acting a a bit low tier.
- Ai both enemy and friendly can derp out on occasion, (not too common).
- Weapon accuracy is very poor until you upgrade it.
- Maria won't stop talking if you don't follow her asap. Hate it when games do this.

Summary

Ubersoldier 2 is primarily a ww2 themed fps based on a comic (i believe).
Though from the music you could easily be mistaken for it to be modern.
This being the 2nd in the series, having not played the 1st as it isn't on steam.
For starters it isn't your common ww2 shooter, definitely underrated and quite unknown, this shooter combines abilities and guns to make the player feel more like an superhero than a regular soldier.
The shield to me sticks out far about the other abilities (mainly focus abilities and slow motion types), as it can catch enemy bullets like a web. The player can then run into enemies killing them with said trapped bullets.
Though it doesn't make sense in the slightest, it does make for some humorous moments, just remember to flick the bullets around a bit and get them all over the enemy -.-

The overall experience plays well from start to near the end (final mission is not well designed).
But i would recommend this game, a hidden gem if you will.

☐ Low quality

Bugs

☑ A Couple (Physx error & fov check summery)
☐ Gamebreaking Bugs

Pros
+ 21:9 Native support, great to see for a 2009 game.
+ Objectives are a better written than other ww shooters of this era.
+ Smart ai (some instances not all) for the time, flanking etc.
+ leaning/peaking for a more tactical approach.
+ Weapon loadout a the start of each mission to choose how you approach.
+ Para-drop in to pick a location, on top of a building or in the action.

Cons
- Weird aiming, clear console port.
- forced motion blur, never a good sign.
- forced mouse acceleration.
- Absence of anti-aliasing.
- Team ai constantly gets in your line of fire.
- Old school enemy aimbot. was never keen on this.
- Enemies spawning only 20 metres in front of you. very obvious.
- Enemy AI often ignore team ai even if they are in the open to focus on you behind cover.
- Constantly getting stuck on objects, unable to move. highly annoying.

Summery

Medal of honor airborne is another game in the series, this entry takes place across various theatres and operations. While there isn't much of a story which i would have liked, the various levels and missions feel well adjusted and tuned well to make for a fairly realistic ww2 shooter.
the gameplay mixes that of some tactical shooters, with a standard fps, this adds a bit of depth to the gameplay, with an emphasis on leaning and strategic placement, either while spawning and parachuting on top of a building for a better shot at long range with a loadout you create at the start of the mission.
The main issue i have with the game is the enemy Ai with their over-the-top aimbot, (on hardest difficulty) it can be quite annoying, very inconsistent as well, sometimes failing to notice you at all or getting stuck and failing to shoot at your team standing out in the open.

*Medal of honor Airborne May fail to launch for some on newer hardware, to fix this go into Install directory, Moha/install/Physx and install the physx driver manually, if it fails, uninstall your current physx and try again.
*Fov is very consoley' to fix this as well as some additions, a mod is available here ---> https://www.moddb.com/mods/medal-of-honor-airborne-redux/images/image-11#imagebox

Things certainly have advanced since 2007, so in that regards it hasn't aged well at all, but overall if i look at the complete package it does still bring to the table what others don't.
Sale still recommended.

Bugs

☑ A Couple (Heat haze is very buggy around asset edges)
☐ Gamebreaking Bugs

Pros
+ Upgraded Graphics engine over the original COJ
+ Cinematics are quite nice, together with character designs.
+ Good selection of classic revolvers, rifles and other weapons of the time.
+ First person body render returns from the original, details matter.
+ 21:9 fully supported, very surprising for a 2009 title, Hud + Cut-scenes.
+ Some open world sections, offering side quests, in between linear chapters.

Cons
- Loss of gritty scruffy style gameplay from the original.
- Difficulty seems far easier and mainstream.
- Objectives are more clear over the original. i preferred the lack of exact markers of the original.
- Running Animation feels off.
- Voice Audio is of poor quality, sounds even more dated than the previous entry from 2005.
- Game locks your vision to face people that are talking to you taking away control from the player, highly annoying.
- Concentration mode is more like dead-eye, a linear step down from the original slow motion which played better.
- Health auto-Regens, this is far too easy over the first game, which required the player pick up elixers.
- The game feels like it can't decide whether it wants to be open world or linear. A little confusing.

Summery
Call Of Juarez Bound In Blood is a prequel to the first game, which then had a little bit of information explained as well.
First of all, the graphics engine has been upgraded, and still looks passable for a game from 2009, to this day.
As for the gameplay, unfortunately it has lost it's charm from that of the 1st game, which i think they nailed.
(That rustic, shabby and otherwise gritty gunplay which worked wonders to set the atmosphere).
Bound in blood, definitely has that pre-2013 gunplay fps vibe to it. The generic action/set piece shooter of the time.
While not neseserrily bad at the time, it doesn't bode well by modern standard, as it's been done to death.

-Realism Mod Comes recommended --> https://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-juarez-bound-in-blood-realism-mod

Overall, it does quite a few good things over the original, but in the process of modernising and becoming more open to the console market, some of the mechanics specifically PC, loses that classic charm found only in the
original. As long as you expect a console port going in, I can still comes recommended it, as COJ bound in blood still has fun moments. Sale recommended.

☑ Above Average (Sells the western atmosphere well voice acting amazing in some places)
☐ Low quality

Bugs

☑ A Couple (stuttering, not sure what from)
☐ Gamebreaking Bugs

Pros
+ Great atmosphere, level design included.
+ Weapon degradation, guns eventually break, similar to far cry 2, (this game came before).
+ Gunplay feels rugged, and rough around the edges, just as a western should be.
+ Gameplay is tough, but rewarding, forcing the player to be reserved when facing multiple enemies.
+ Story is well paced, playing out in episodes splitting the narrative from 2 perspectives.
+ Suspense and tension are expertly achieved.
+ Use your whip, or feet to create/navigate the world. A nicer way to advance than just the linear.
+ Cinematic zoom-in, for dramatic effect, similar to that of fallout nv/3.
+ First person full body render, details matter.

Cons
- Engine hasn't aged well, looks a little scruffy.
- Stuttering isn't great, seems the animations are also capped at 30fps.
- Hud looks very poor quality, though not all of it looks bad.
- Your guns get removed after each chapter, (not a fan of this at all).
- Enemies have over-the-top range/accuracy, shotguns especially annoying.

Summery
Call Of Juarez is the 1st game in sequence of stories told through the classic western lense.
What i specifically like about this game is the way the story is told through perspective, one character going after another, but both played by the player in the 1st person,
not many games experiment with this style of 1st/3rd person story telling, and i think it works really well.
one of the better series of games to showcase the atmosphere in a gritty, but fair light. mixed in to myth and ideals of what it was like, through a ficticious storyline.
From gameplay to narrative it plays well.
what i really like is the lack of a health regen, in-place is a tonic based health drop system where you have to find them in the world, though they are not too rare, you often don't know where the next one is, so you have to strategically approach each encounter/mass encounter with a bit of caution.
The suspense is nailed in COJ in a way most other Fps games fail at.

Overall this game is one of the strongest in the series, for what it lacks in visual fidelity it makes up for in story, and gunplay.
Well worth picking up, on sale or not.

Pros
+ Colourful Vibrant world.
+ enemies and humour and design reminds me of borderlands a little, especially the introduction card screens, which i like
+ weapon varients are unique and all very different from one another.
+ Gameplay is always enjoyable, it actually reminds me a little of the old Tony Hawk skater games, the overall atmosphere and arcade gameplay style.
+ Well Written humour (Mostly), and videogame references, well done with good timing.
+ A Dead Rising, Saints Row & Agents of mayhem vibe, always a plus in my book.
+ Respawn animations, there are a tonn of them, makes death creatively interesting.
+ Story has different themes as you progress through each chapter.
+ Plenty of crazy and Wtf moments, its clear from the get-go this game is just silly fun.
+ Great set of customisation options

Cons
- fov is very low, for a third person action/shooter, not a good choice here. makes the gameplay feel cramped at times. (no fix)
- 21:9 isn't supported, have to hex edit the exe to remove black bars. (check PCGW for fix) hud is still buggy though.
- Textures are pretty low quality, could/should be better for a pc port.
- Music will cut out randomly, feels unintended.
- Too many collectables to grind, 500+.#
- Challenges are very repetative, should have cut them by about 60%.
- Draw distance is very poor, a lot of pop-in.

Summery
Sunset Overdrive is an open world action game set in an apocalypse where an energy drink has turned everyone into mutants.
From the get-go this is a game that doesn't take itself seriously at all, breaking the 4th wall whenever it gets the chance to.
There are plenty of jokes, puns and references to videogame logic, movies etc, most of the jokes are well written, can be a little 'Zoomer' in delivery at times, but it does fit the overall theme of crazyness.
While the open world does a good job to make for an open world, i feel they went a bit overboard on the collectables, over 500 in total, i gave up part way through.
This has always been the bane of modern open world games, the grinding aspect.
If they cut most of them from the game it would have been better off, and less cluttered.
I still think the graphics are very dated for a Pc Port & a port it most definitely is, from the old generation (2013).

AS for gameplay, well this is where it shines.
To my mind it combines the crazy weapon/action of the Dead Rising series, with the trick/gameplay of a classic Tony Hawk game from the mid 2000s.
Not only is it incredibly fun and fluid, but it ties so well into the story/narrative.
Its very unique, maybe even comparing the better aspects of agents of mayhem (not the bad parts, mostly the action).

Overall, the game sets up a great package, with a lot of fun to be had.
A sale is always recommended, but at full price you can get a good deal of fun out of it.

☑ A Couple (Crash on launch (exe fix available -PCGW), Stutters on occasion)

Pros
+ Suit Notifies you of incoming threats, (think Crysis).
+ Hud scales correctly for 21:9
+ Amazing Ragdoll Physics/gore, Friendly fire is also enabled, + Bloody footprints when walking over corpse (nice detail).
+ Destructible cover/Enviroment, encourages the player to stay on their toes in combat & keep moving.
+ Rewind time, Freeze time & Pause time all on the fly, this can give the player a lot of choice when approaching gun fights, amazing feature!
+ Bullets ricoche from walls can damage/kill, i cannot think of another game that has this feature!
+ If you shoot the gun out of an enemies hands, they will rush to the nearest dropped weapon and pick it up.
+ Everyweapon has 2 built in modes, from secondary flamethrowers, dual shot, gauss blast, burst fire and more.

Cons
- Occasional stutters (Fix Available at PCGW).
- Voices can be hard to hear in the world, (can be overshadowed by atmospheric sfx).
- Graphics is noteable degraded when rewinding time (though this could be engine limited/console limited).
- Cannot sprint, Especially needed in the bigger open sections, not sure why it isn't included.
- Objectives are sometimes unclear, (this doesn't happen often which is good).
- Level loading can be very messy (doesn't happen often), putting you in a new location without much context.
- Enemy spawns can be a little obnoxious in certain locations, more annoying on harder difficulties.

Summery
TimeShift, like the name would suggest, focuses Story and gameplay around time. More Specifically the manipulation of it.
The game takes place in a Steampunk setting so as you'd expect the weapons, vehicles, architecture would mimick this style. Not many fps games use this theme so it's refreshing to see.
The game has a distinctly half life (2) vibe, certainly in the opening which works well to set the tone for the rest of the game which carries itself well, though the gameplay is what really bring the enjoyment out of the experience.
You have The ability to control, Slow motion, freeze frame, reverse time.
This was a rather unique and difficult gameplay dynamic to incorporate into a game (a lot could have potentially bugged out, regarding scripts and physics), especially for a 2007 title. So i was rather impressed with the concept going in.
As for the execution, it's pretty flawless, using freeze time can make enemies lose your position so you can flank and attack from behind.
the freeze time ability also allows you to complete puzzles, (stop doors from closing, fire from hurting you etc).
Only major issue i have with the game is the objectives and path taking, it can at times be pretty unclear where it is you are supposed to go, though that doesn't take away from how well thought out the levels and structures of them are, which is to say very good.

All in all the main premise of the game works well, and feels rather unique.
I would recommend this quite highly, if only for the gameplay, a hidden gem which you could get a good deal of fun out of.

☐ Gamebreaking Bugs

Pros
+ Clean Ui, quite subtle & easy to read/navigate.
+ New and improved journal & Codex, Great improvement visually over Mass effect 3's 'attempt' at it.(Visually it's very pretty).
+ Graphically a great improvement over previous entries, in lighting, texture and gorgeous world building.
+ Great OST, as with the others in the series the soundtrack is always 'stellar' (though action music is a little drab).
+ Gun holstering returns from Me2, great to see.
+ Jet pack booster for Evading, Jumping & Hovering (making for some get combos for biotics).
+ Controls are very fluid, even smoother than ME3, making combat feel very satisfying.
+ 3-Dimensional view of all wearable and useable equipment. (weapons, armour) really nice.
+ Overhauled galaxy map & Scanning system, very immersive a lovely improvement, (Comparrison to Elite Dangerous but linear/automated).
+ Enviromental detail, (e.g raindrops & snow on armour), some nice attention given here.
+ Weapon/armour upgrades from I-X (10) rank return from ME1, giving players who rank up to Lv l80+ some end game to work towards.

Cons
- Facial animations (well known at this point) are not great, making eye contact quite awkward, at times.
- FPS is very poor in some places (not all), the game doesn't just doesn't look good enough to warrant this kind of stutter & lag.
- Toggle walk has been removed. (who thought this was a good idea? forces you to hold button to walk & and the default duck waddle running animation is poor)
- Character designs are poor, they really dropped the bar here & one of my biggest dislikes about this game. (what did they do to the asari?) -.-
- Texture/Asset/Character clipping is very poor in some places, very noticeable in places, almost as bad as some asset flip games. (poor quality control here)
- Music cuts out awkwardly when going into a cutscene, very amateur work here.
- Tanns voice actor is not great at all for the species, furthermore The writing for addison is VERY poor, i mean REALLY bad. (weirdly, The 'Nexus Uprising' book wrote her better.)
- Weapons/Armour are stuck in your inventory taking up space, but you can't swap out parts on the fly, this is a basic feature in other Rpgs with inventory systems like this.
- Enemies can & will spawn behind you, in bases. on insanity this can often kill you...

Summery
Mass Effect Andromeda takes place 600+ years after the events of Mass effect 2. You are frozen in a cryopod and wake up 600+ years later, (feels like a plot-hole to me regarding cryopods).
The world design, is above and beyond anything that has come before in the franchise & one of Andromedas great aspects, this should be commended and recognised as it truly is a step up, each world feels unique and offers different enemies and enviroments, what it lacks in comparrison to other rpgs is a certain amount of depth (or a lived in feel).
In regards to the facial animations and character designs, the hate from the fanbase was well deserved, they completly redesigned some character models (asari, krogan) when it should have only been a re-make* though i can understand that with a new engine it can be tough to make something 100% accurate to previous engines, but the jump from Mass effect 1-2 wasn't this big so there isn't an excuse really.
At the start of the game, i wasn't convinced with the new cast of characters, but by the end i actually thought they bonded really well, all progressing/getting to know one another with custom dialogue/conversations depending on who you brought on a mission/exploration with (This mechanic, not present in previous games).
The idea of setting up your own research team in the colony of EOS was really nice, (the start of terraforming) I just wish it was a little more hands on, customising buildings and locations instead of pre-fab. Still it was a nice inclusion which made the settling more immersive due to the radiation (hot & cold hazards on other planets simular to ME1) needing time to clear from the other areas of the world.
As with most modern titles Cutscenes are pillar-boxed to 16:9 so for those with a ultrawide setup, you'll have to use this fix to get the in-game cutscenes to fit (few pop in's but nothing to major).
---> https://youtu.be/bmF3Pny890E
I highly recommend some of the fixes/Mods over on NexusMods for a refined experience.

I did have a lot of fun with Andromeda though by the end i was ready to move on, as it can get a bit repetative, as well as lot of the problems regarding fps, facial animations, Cetrain Voice acting & Character models did impede on the overall experience to a larger degree than I would have liked.
All that being said I Recommended giving the game a chance, as there is an underated gem underneath, if you scrape off the unpolished aspects of it (terraforming your experience), you will not regret your decision.

Pros

+Choose Dialogue responses, similar to an Rpg, in this case for reputation gain/loss
+A Good Selection of Weapon upgrades for both you and your squadmate.
+Enemy have weakpoints, e.g shooting out the legs of androids, cripples them and slows them down.
+Voice commands, though gimmicky it's an interesting inclusion, the ability to command your squad mate (attack, regroup, cover fire etc.) *I didn't try the feature however.
+Squadmates have reputation which effect combat effectiveness and moral, though some speech options are very unclear, often resulting in negative rep, you can also gain rep for heroic actions in battle or negative rep for friendly fire etc.
+Amazing squad dynamic, as the game progresses friendships bond similar to mass effect. It worked very well, by the end of the game i felt a great bond between the group.
+Headshot enemies to send them into a frenzy state attacking fellow robots, useful for creating decoys in large open engagements.
+Squad mates can get downed by enemy fire, forcing the player or other squadmates to revive them, medkits are required to do so and can run out, so there is a bit of strategy in saving health for yourself or to use on teammates, if they die the mission will fail.

Cons

-Console port, Controls can be very unclear, sensitivity is all over the place (Analog deadzone).
-30fps cutscenes & 60fps gameplay cap, for some this might be ok but it always hinders potential for action shooters like this.
-Messy hud far to big, and it seems to be rendered at 720p, this is even more evident at higher aspect ratios. clear PS3 generation console port swap.
-When trying to fix ultrawide with flawless widescreen, shadows will break unfortunately (though this isn't the games fault per-say).
-Animations are locked at 30fps, This is not surprising as it's a direct console port, (engine most likely doesn't support higher).
-Dodge mechanic feels delayed and clunky, especially bad when avoiding hits from larger enemies.

Summery

Set in the year 2080, this Cyberpunk style action 3rd person shooter, mixes the ideas of present day 3rd person military shooter cliche styles (humour, writing, cover, combat) with a futuristic setting.
Enemies including, drones, androids & larger robotic machines like something out of transformers, shooting off armour to reveal weak spots for extra damage, or shooting the heads off smaller enemies to make them frenzy and fight anything in a small vicinity.
Initially The story did have quit a slow start and wasn't sure if it was really something i would like, infact i was pretty unimpressed, as it felt like a ps3 generic cover shooter thus giving me a very bad impression, but after the 1st chapter the plot really started picking up and i quickly changed my mind.
The main plot starts to thicken, & the humour is well written, timed & works throughout the story offering a nice balance between serious & comedic. Even with the facial animations being dated, delivers a believable and very well told story.
In some areas of the game it had a distinctly 'Yakuza' vibe to it which i loved.
Combat delivers nice variety of action animations, both in cover and out, a great deal of fun can be gained from the visuals alone destruction etc)
Different actions, depending on who you bring with you in certain areas of the game will effect outcomes, which is great. (i'm also told trust reputation effects this and the ending as well).
