Childhood dreams ruined!

I tried to like this game and I had high hopes for it, but it was a big letdown.

-Laggy Dedicated Servers & Lack of being able to host your own
-The worst optimisation I have ever seen in an early access survival game release
-A tutorial on how to build things that lasted way to long (we all know how to play survival games already, skip that nonsense)
-bland base building and progression

This game honestly has nothing new or special to offer compared to the latest bunch of survival games that have dropped recently, do yourself a favour and skip this one.

Fun game but I can't see it having any longevity.

So this is a weird one for me, as much as I really do like the game it is only really playable with friends,

I'd like to see a thought out matchmaking system where I can play with a combination of friends/random players or just a solo queue into matches with random people.

Replay value is quite low purely because of that but I will still give this a thumbs up because it has massive potential if they listen to community feedback or make well thought out decisions.

So this is a hard game to recommend - it's definitely rough around the edges.

Melee combat is awful, so awful, I genuinely wish they had worked on it to make it a bit more fluid or at least polished it over time, they certainly dropped the ball with that aspect. Imagine if you bought Dark Souls from Wish . com - that's the only way to sum it up.

Magic - This is probably the only redeeming factor; It's a lot of fun and it makes you feel like you're going through effort to cast all these amazing and awesome spells.

There's definitely other pros and cons but these 2 stood out the most.

In it's current state it's very short but incredibly fun.

It also looks like they're actively working on it and taking feedback from players so I hope for more gameplay real soon.

Developers lost the charm of what Doom should have been

They should have taken what made the 2016 version so great and kept rolling with it, but they somehow went in a direction that was kid friendly and made for an arcade machine.

I have only recently just bought and started playing this game, I ignored the initial bad reviews and only took into consideration the updated reviews with the recent update and I just have to say this game is absolutely amazing, I'm really enjoying the time i can spend in VR playing this game, I'm hoping that once i finish it that there's some sort of sandbox mode/freeplay mode at the end to give it some sort of replay value.

Literally unplayable with hours and hours worth of queue time - will be refunding if this is still an issue over the next 24 hours.

At first i absolutely loved this game considering it was fresh and innovative but after 100 hours the game became dull due to lack of updates, fast forward over half a year for their first major content drop!

The amount of hype the developers tried to put into this update that quite frankly had almost next to nothing worth mentioning in it is quite sad on their part, they dropped the ball for being one of the greatest sandbox/rpg games on the market down to being a massive disappointment.

RIP Valheim, you had potential - maybe i'll come back in a year two until there's something worth coming back for.
