ARK only wishes it's building could be this good. Plus the purges keep PVE interesting long after where you would have hit that wall in ARK where everything is boring because nothing can kill you anymore, not even alpha bosses. All hail the purge! (This review was made after the addition of mounts and pet thralls, and the ability to level them. It's essentially ARK, without the boredom ceiling.)

The treachery is real. ♥♥♥♥ everyone, trust no one, you will love your friends more after this....after you are done screaming yourself hoarse.

Most fun way to yell at/with friends. 10/10

Instant space crack addiction. Make sure you bring a friend who knows what the hell is going on. Or, you know, lots of youtube and google. So worth it though. Beyond just the gaming, the hard science displayed in the ship fittings or the Discovery missions will snag any good science nerd.

And yes, the game IS friendly to newcomers. No one is out to farm you until you can get the kind of loot using the kind of ships you wont be touching for years, if you play solo. If you DO wanna see pirates, you'll need to join a Corp with long-term players willing to let you borrow ships to join them on higher level missions so you can do the most basic of tasks while they do the heavy lifting.

Plus, people just seem very welcoming in general.

However, there are NO name changes in this game. At all. Your name is your reputation that will follow you forever so, I hope you like what name you pick, and I hope you think through the choices you make. Your character can and will be background checked, just another in-game feature.
