Very poorly optimised, won't run without frame drops on:
i7 6700k
2 x GTX 970
32gb RAM

The UI is terribly made and hard to navigate for newer players, the game is very harsh on new players in terms of no extensive tutorial, had to look online for how not to die of starvation in the first 10 minutes.
Also as far as I can tell (may just be because of the bad UI) but there is no way to reset your singleplayer world, and generated worlds disappear on updates.

And as many other people have said, they are released DLC instead of updates.

TL;DR: Don't buy it until it's out of early access, and even then be cautious.

So far what I have seen looking through the reviews is that, out of the old negative reviews, they do not apply anymore, and a lot of the new negative reviews are people being salty that it has gone F2P and they "wasted money", ignore them, the game is fun and that is all that matters, the devs made a good choice following in TF2s footsteps. So far there are ZERO microtransactions, everything is bought with keys (which are in healthy supply, and free) I can't even find a way to purchase said keys with real money if I wanted to. It is also only In Beta as of yet, hopefully they will add more gamemodes, because this game has some of the highest potential I have ever seen.

2d Dark Souls - Get it whilst it's hot!

Diet Dark Souls for those that adore STR weapons.

Overall of less quality but they almost completely recreated that Souls magic, still missing a few important things.

128 hours in and still going strong, infinite replay value.

Comparing to Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition

Pros:
Improved combat
Improved game mechanics
Much improved PvP
Better graphics

Cons:
Less atmospheric
PvE exeperience not quite as good
Graphical style not the same

Not really much bad I can say about this, all of the Souls Series are near perfect in my opinion, although this is by far my least favourate that still does not say much as that simply means it's my 3rd favourate game on Steam.

An amazing cinematic yet short experience, the story whilst lacking in depths execution made me sit on the edge of my chair wanting to know what is going to happen.

Pros:
Well crafted story + story telling
Combat system inspired by Dark Souls yet still unique
8 Bosses and 8 Mini-bosses, plenty of content
Interesting maze puzzle archetype

Cons:
Lag at one point even though not graphically intensive
Some enemies / bosses are uninspiring and not fun to fight
Virtually no animations
Graphical style might not appeal to all
Combat system is very clunky


Should you buy this game? Yes, it is well worth the price, playing the game you can easily look past all of the flaws and have a good time.
