The best free game Steam has to offer.
I would pay at least 5$ to play this game. I honestly can't believe it's free for its replay value alone.
Each weapon has it's own cool things going on and the abilities and upgrade systems are well implemented and make for a really unique and interesting experience, especially once you unlock mutations to add more flavour to your run.
The 2 maps provide different enemies and attack patterns. Love the enemy variance between the two maps and their stylization.

Hope this game continues to see updates, it has amazing potential!! cant wait to see what the third map brings in, too.

Edit: I'm not sure how i neglected to mention this initially, but the sound design in this game is surprisingly IN CREDIBLE. The music is dynamic and changes with difficulty and time-spent on a run, making things super hectic towards the end which is as scary as it is invigorating.

The monster sound design, specifically in some of the later bosses, has such a grand and giant feel to it all that it really gives life to some of the enemies and all of the bosses later. It really feels like the bosses put in their ALL to kill you and maime you, and the sound design really helps make the bosses feel so much more intimidating and powerful than you are, even if your run is going well. It's really great stuff.

This is my partners favourite game, and after playing Lego Voyagers (also by Annapurna), I was recomended, and eventually gifted this game.

Going into the game completely blind, I honestly didn't have high hopes for it. I'm not at all into space or space themed games, and I thought this would be a lot more overwhelming and uninteresting than it was.

I was incredibly happy to be proven wrong. The games controls seem a bit cluttered but I found myself fiddling with them very minimally in the beginning before settling on the default keyboard controls because they just work so well. It also helps that there are little control reminders in place at the top right of the screen sometimes that I referenced when I needed them.

Flying the ship, something that I thought was going to be painful and arduous, is actually super easy and really quite enjoyable. The shuttle you pilot is surprisingly durable (and therefore does NOT intensely punish roughhousing) , has everything you need and more to help you navigate and place yourself spatially within the vacuum of space. I liken it to using a boat and a map in Minecraft, it's really quite easy and there is no extraneous levers and switches that need fixing throughout or whatever other chores I thought the game would throw my way. The ship itself is also not entirely necessary and I really only found myself using it at the beginning and then ditching it every so often to go explore on foot.

Outer Wilds is very exploration and story based, you're basically playing space detective. You'll find yourself in it's web quite quickly, since you can just go wherever you want, whenever you want, and just run around finding new things that pique your interest, and explore them further by finding clues. As great as this is, I initially thought this would be a problem later on because I'd forget important clues to figuring out the story and losing myself in the wrong places, but this game has a simple and ingenious solution. In your ships log, located on your ship, you get access to a "Rumor Map" that acts as an evidence board (Pins, strings, corkboard, you get it) that not only gives you information as to where you might want to head next, but also summarizes and explains clues you've already discovered to help you piece together what's going on. Even if you can't understand the text you're reading, you can always go to the Rumor Map and check what's new to figure out what you missed or didn't pick up on. It's absolutely wonderful and really helps lift the load a bit if you don't really know how a particular clue you've found fits into the story. This is all done without spoiling things and leaving you enough room to figure things out on your own, too. it is legitimately genius.

The story in this game is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of exploring. It is phenomenal. I've never been so encapsulated with a games story that I laid awake in bed trying to figure out platforming puzzles, or general story clues, but here we are. I won't say anything more about it, and I implore anybody reading this to play as blindly as possible.

Outer Wilds is a beautiful game through and through, and I hope this review can help encourage others who were similarly scared or overwhelmed with the game to give it a try and experience one of the best stories modern gaming has to offer.

Spelunky 2 is a genius game, both in its mechanics, level design, and learnable movement/combat tech, as well as its atmosphere and loveable character designs and silly antics.

Whatever way you decide to play- this game will grab you with its iron hooks and drag you into it. At least, thats what's going on with me.

Playing this game and trying to get your highest score on the daily, or trying to go as deep as you can into the last area is exactly what a rouguelike game like spelunky needed, and it EXCELS in creating an inviting game that welcomes you run after run into open arms. Do those arms sometimes push you onto landmines, or under crushing blocks? Sometimes. But you know what you're getting into by that point.

Spelunky 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, and even after all this time, it still holds up so well. I definitely reccomend buying it if you aren't too put off by the occasional late-game death, or early game bump. Power through it's challenges, and Spelunky will reward you with areas so tense and problems so satisfying to solve that you'll get goosebumps.

If you have a friend you want to play this with, do it. Get the game. You'll be glad. Hell im still messaged to this day if im available to play lol.

Sorry for the half review half love letter- Just felt like pouring my heart out for one of the best games ever made

Ever wanted to purchase every adobe image/video editing program without all the crashes, at a good price, and by a studio that is not evil?

Yes, it's main purpose is for pixel art, but you'd be surprised how useful it can be outside of pixel art as well.

If you're on the fence, buy it. You'll be glad you did. Also pretty cool that i can see how many hours I've put into something like drawing or editing in the program.

This review doesn't need to exist, Aseprite is just so plainly good that I wanted to appreciate it out loud. Thank you David

What a gorgeous experience- Specifically to play with someone you hold close online.

I would have NEVER thought I'd cry at a lego game. This game hit me very hard in a welcome bitter-sweet sort of way.

Most of the puzzles are incredibly intuitive and my partner and I were able to beat the game without going online for hints or help. no puzzle was too unclear or too vague on what to do. The whole game is quite linear and VERY polished (as far as I can tell) and SO MUCH love and care was poured by the gallon into this game.

I cannot overstate this enough, please play this game, and please play it with someone you love. Its fun, it's silly and its gorgeous.

Very fast-paced and simply well made. Honestly, I just wish there was more (so im gonna buy QUICKERFLAK 2 lol)

This game is a STEAL right now for 64 cents CAD, let alone 1.29$ without any discount.

It's simple to understand, a good challenge, and plays incredibly smoothly. Moving and shooting feels incredible, and even if you aren't necessarily good at shooters or top-down games, you'll still have a blast and feel real cool when you kill like 6 guys with one shot.

This game sloppily interprets both horror game elements and depictions of rape/sexual assault.

It is a funny game, but it takes itself far too lightly to be taken seriously and often as times I had any semblance of immersion broken by a meme onscreen or text that wasn't fitting.

The concept of the neighbor drilling through the wall is an excellent concept on it's own and was absolutely used well towards the beginning. Peeping through the new hole each time you get up is fascinating, and you begin to worry and wonder while you're doing other things. Unfortunately, that's the only praise I can give it. The rest is running through walls that look like salmon meat and internet-trendy analog horror that is incredibly cheesy. Yes there is a story to play through, and the story is easy to follow and the artistic interpretation is there, and the beginning is full character- but this game is sloppily put together between the assets, gameplay, and its various filters and the way it handles its intense and incredibly fragile subject matter.

Please play this game as blindly as possible.
This is a game where you can absolutely tell that the creator has put tons of love and care into it's creation and execution. IMSCARED is incredibly clever with its mechanics throughout and it is absolutely excellent at setting up scary scenarios and settings for it's player to explore.

5.00$ is a STEAL for a game like this. I of course recommend playing as blindly as possible.

This is a mixed bag for me.

I genuinely think the GAME is great.
You get to play as accurate SCP monsters and classes (Like Mobile Task Forces and Chaos Insurgency) in a server-based game with your friends and randoms, great game for anyone who enjoys the SCP-foundation and the world built around it the last decade or-so.

-just maybe don't add this one to your library if you don't want to be called a few slurs playing this game. This community can be quite abhorrent, but I have also met some of my best friends on this game, so- take that as you will.
