learn potion crafting and sell homebrew concoctions. kill bandits and sharpen everything. learn sneaky kill and become the murderer of Wayfare travelers throughout the land. combat is clunky nonsense but so is the Holy Roman Empire.

How fast are your reflexes? You'll need to be quick to survive this Hong Kong Massacre.
This is a very straight forward fast paced shooter. Dodge, shoot and slow time to murder everyone in your way. Think of it like a Max Payne/John Wick/Matrix blend. The enemy is deadly accurate so expect to die repeatedly. Being able to dodge keeps you from getting shot and tracer rounds show every trajectory. Slow motion is in there to help you through some of the larger groups of enemies but you're rewarded more for not using it. It has a pretty basic revenge story (as much as I've seen so far) so it's really the gameplay that keeps you interested.

Ground to a halt by tedious nonsense. there is nothing interesting about keeping track of protein and fat intake via wristwatch while trying to craft in 4 different modes. From the backpack, the book, off the ground or harvesting. you figure out which one you need to get anything done.
Be sure to eat from every major food group, sleep, heal, gather, build, hunt, eat, look for new.. eat, sleep... finish looking for, heal, hunt, eat, build, gather, sleep... it's only been 10 minutes no wonder the guy is losing his mind!!
It's pretty and all but nothing like passing out every 3 minutes cause he's tired. How does a character whose supposed to be a botanist not know what any of these plants are? Honestly with only 15 hours of game time they can keep his wife. If he had the stamina i'd have built a small boat and just sailed away.
The fun stuff is playing on perma-death mode and running full tilt into the jungle to see how far you can get and letting him go completely insane so his visions chase you everywhere you go. The fun only lasts a day so save your cash, watch a youtube video to see the hype(?) and then buy something better. The Forest is better. Get that.

mediocre battle royale in a vampire masquerade setting. If you loved halo jumping then this is the game for you. It's like being in a room full of spastic crickets. plenty of lore and info but if you're into the battle royale style most people wont care. there are plenty of better royale games. At least it's free but watch out for that spyware/anti cheat that you have to dig out of your system.

If your looking for something simple and beautiful then AER will be a nice short diversion. I love the flying mechanics. Shifting back and forth while tumbling through the air is really fun. The story is rather plain however. I finished it in 3.5 hrs without any real direction. I just kept flying and finding caves.
You can't get lost on such a small map. I managed to have all but 4 achievements without any real effort and I doubt I'll go back for those. I had hoped that with messages about others becoming different animals from their animal spirits that I'd either see them or get to become them.
In the entire map there are exactly 4 other people in this world and you meet them all in the first 2 mins of gameplay. The rest are ghostly images seen with the help of a magic lamp. Biggest let down was that ending. The Void is the big bad with no bite. No spoilers but it sucked. I got this through the recent Humble Bundle otherwise I might not have ever played it. I still recommend giving it a try if you've picked it up somewhere.

Excellent game. Great atmosphere and story telling. If you didn't get it here then you missed out cause it's gone now! :D

Thought I'd give this one a try for the free weekend. found out everything is locked behind a "you don't own this" pop up. waste of time. it's no surprise that the recent reviews have been overwhelmingly negative.

This is definately a step up from the first Homefront game. It reminds me of Red Faction: Guerilla, the Saboteur, and maybe a little GTA.

The world is open but manageable. The look and feel are spot on and the gun play is as good as any other current shooter. It came across as a little to predictable for me so don't expect much from the story. I was plesantly amused by the upgrades to the guns. Maybe all weapons should be so easily swapped out with parts to make other bigger weapons.

I initially loved the idea of hoping on a motorcycle until I tried it. Too much debri on the streets and using the keyboard to drive made the experience a hectic motorcross nightmare.

Claiming locations to free up the map was a bit too easy also. Simply activate the console, laptop, pressure valve and the area is yours. All the enemies vanish and your own troops take up residence.

It's a good run around game where you get to shoot at guys or drones for a bit. Not the best game ever and certainly stuff we have seen a time or two before, but much better than the original.

The Forest is one of the better survival horror games. Every time I log on there has been a new update or change to the game making it better to play. I was most horrified to see the mutant cannibal walking around the forest in my last playthrough. That thing chased me across half the island!

At worse it's a time waster. At best its a fortress building, animal hunting, co-op playing, cannibal killing, cave exploring, pyro fullfilling, turtle eating, bird,squirel,racoon,lizard,deer head collecting, sitting in a houseboat throwing rocks at sharks simulator.

Now I have to go find out if I can lure a cannibal far enough into the water to get a shark to eat him.
