Just busywork herding production dependencies by clicking on thing that is low until it is not low.

There are 89432 different buildings to build, but they all just turn X into Y at Z speed with no meaningful difference between how they work, what they take in, and what they give out. It's just stuff with arbitrary labels like "axe" or "industrial research".

A game of exploration, optimization, and of patiently watching things go. Yes, please, and yes please! This game is targeting my personal niche with laser precision.

Like a medieval fantasy version of Edge of Tomorrow, the protagonist is stuck in a time loop. Through your carefully planned grinding, their increased knowledge of and familiarity with the world will allow them to explore further and further.

Update after completing all achievements
================================
The late game exploration got less fun, as the loop took over 10 minutes start to end and then needing a tiny adjustment before restarting it. I believe a "free move" mechanic where you could choose to move manually at the end of a loop would have remedied this while not ruining the core game.

But, as is evident by me completing all achievements, I overall loved my time in this game.

Beautiful environment.

Good length.

Intelligent plot nicely integrated with gameplay.

Puzzles were in the range easy to medium hard.

Requesting refund because of hitting several significant problems before finishing the tutorial, and also seeing these have been reported years ago and I can't expect them to be fixed:
- Doesn't work in Steam offline mode, with an empty error message.
- Froze after 10 minutes of play.
- Got out of sync on the second tutorial mission and I couldn't complete it.

Ever had so much fun playing a shooter that you started to move and shoot along with the music? This game is that element of pure playful joy, refined.

The main challenge of Satisfactory is to keep your factory organized as it grows. This can be achieved through varying applications of carefully compacted layout, spaced production facilities, wrapping things up in huge buildings, or creative aesthetics.

The game is at its best when I manage to not only extend my factory, but give it a brutalist beauty, and then stand atop one of the buildings and watch the big beast churn - now a part of the landscape.

Having played thousands of hours of Factorio, FortressCraft Evolved, Subnautica and Minecraft, I see strengths from each of those games show up in Satisfactory: Making my own slice of Conveyor Belt Heaven, gorgeous landscapes, exploration, building vertically as part of the landscape, and the satisfaction of having built a Very Very Large Thing piece by piece by hand.
