This is Dark Souls, I don't need to tell you how good it is because you already know. Get it.

Length:
This game is incredibly short, I just 100% the game in under 10 hours. That being said, this game does not overstay its welcome.

Story:
The story is cheesy and I mean that in the best way possible. It's trying to replicate action movies from the 80's with a retro-futuristic atmosphere. The retro-futuristic atmosphere is what attracted me to the game, and It does this incredibly well . The main character has witty one-liners that made me chuckle nearly every time I heard them. The story, however, is probably the least most interesting part of the game. To avoid spoilers, I'll just say that it has the same generic plot of every other action movie from the 80's, but perhaps thats what the developers were going for. The game presents the story in these 8-bit slides that look similar to what a comic book would look like.

Gameplay:
The gameplay loop is to go to a "garrison" (Ubisoft tower), conquer it and then move to the next one, while simultaneously picking up collectables in the form of TV's, research papers, and VHS tapes, and doing sidequests. The sidequests themselves aren't all that interesting, there are only two variations; rescue a hostage or kill a certain enemy. The story missions weren't nearly as fun as the normal gameplay loop. The game was most fun (For me) when you snuck into a garrison and took out every enemy via stealth.

Combat:
The combat in this game, as previously mentioned, was most fun when you were conquering a garrison. As a game that rewards you so well for being sneaky, it didn't give you many options to do so. The only stealth weapons you have are the bow and to do a takedown action by sneaking up behind an enemy. The bow was my favorite weapon to use, because as you got better with it, the more rewarding it was to use. Most all the weapons have upgrades you could buy for them, I was disappointed to find that the bow didn't have any. Though as you level up the bow becomes easier to use. The combat falls short when you are in a large fire-fight, It's very easy to become overwhelmed and the weapons you have aren't entirely well equipped to use in those fights, even when upgraded. The best weapon for these fights was the large machine gun, but it's so clunky to use that I never found myself equipping it. The explosives and the cyber-hearts are probably the most useless items in the game. The only explosive that's worth using is the grenade, the rest only have niche cases where they *might* be useful if you're able to set them up right. The Cyber hearts only purpose is to lure blood dragons away from you, and this is almost never needed. Simply running away from the blood dragons was more effective than throwing the cyber-hearts.

Conclusion:
This game would suffer far more from its gameplay loop if it was longer, but because its such a short game, I can forgive it for that. This game was a fun romp in a retro-futuristic world and I would recommend it to anyone who likes open world first person shooters.

Haha funny pot hammer man.

Actually no. This game is amazing, and I find myself booting it up way more often than I'd like to admit.

If you've read into any of the bad reviews on this game, you'll notice a trend. They all have less than an hour in play time and they all cite the game for having bad controls. This is absurd, the controls are wonky, but they are in no way bad. My first summit was at around 10 hours, now this is a long time, and my fastest time is 7:20 minutes. If my time decreases that much that can only tell you one thing. That the controls take a while to learn, and that you'll have a better understanding of them with time.

This game is a litteral mountain, mentally and on the screen. You'll find yourself falling over and over again. You'll get mad and want to quit, but this is just how the game was designed. It was made with the intent that you would fail over and over again.

The first time you get over it, is the best one. You'll watch the credits roll by like you just climbed a litteral mountain.

Don't play Sexy Hiking, that game actually has bad controls.

This is a very good game, thank you Mr. Foddy.

I played this game 10 years ago, and its just as fun as I remember. The Devs need to update the graphics in the worlds past Wizard city though. All in all, this game has a great combat system that will get you hooked if you give it enough time. This game isn't for everyone though. 8/10
