I enjoy, however.

The AI in this game are the most hive-mind mentally ill I have ever seen.

I absolutely must positively warn you;
Unless you have friends, don't bother.

The AI in this game is too unintelligible on both sides. Your own are extra-stupid because they follow you by default, and therefore are too busy following you to properly engage and attack. The enemy AI are stupid, because they don't make decisions per-AI but make decisions as a group. If you have a friend and Johnny attacks one Grasshopper, that Grasshopper, a Hunchback, 2 Spiders, and a Javelin for good measure, will make their way to gangbang him as you watch in horror. If you punch them while they gang bang Jonnny, they MAY turn around and attack you. Maybe! It really depends on how they feel. But they don't make independent attack procedures.

When utilizing friendly AI, you must wrangle them, and command them like an RTS constantly. Spamming the attack button, or move button. Ideally, in most cases- move works the best. As they'll basically "guard" a certain spot. Where as attack will force them to attack someone before they kill them and walk back to you. Don't worry, they won't attack any of the mechs running circles around them shooting them, while they attack the target you commanded. This is annoying. For many reasons. So you can't have them move with you, and engage independently. It's either attack directly, guard a spot, or follow you mindlessly.

The game seems to be just a short-end content of Mech Warrior Online, a PVP game I've never played, but again, much like any game ever, Mech Warriors 5 is better with friends. If you don't have any, steer clear.

Ignoring all of the above, it's a genuinely fun game if you can get a bud to help draw aggro from the brainless hivemind of AI.

Sony Drama Aside;

Wow even after I take a hiatus and come back, My favorite weapon has been slightly nerfed, now it must double tap enemies when it already has about no ammo. No idea why!

Did you like the ERUPTOR gun? Was it COOL that the ERUPTOR Would blow up and KILL THINGS??? Nah, doesn't do that. Now it's just a god awful bolt action sniper rifle! The shrapnel promised in its description? No longer exists!

How about the Explosive Crossbow? Unconventional, but how good is it? Surely it'll be really unique, right? The Explosive Crossbow got a nerf, and after using it for one whole match, I never want to use it again. What is the point, of all these guns when you nerf them to uselessness?

Seriously, If I rewrite this review that is my primary complaint, it feels like whoever is balancing the game is in a progressive "left right" game to decide what gets balanced, and things that are fine tuned enough to be fair, get walked back, meanwhile every time something new releases it sucks.

The P-113 Verdict, a new favorite of mine, almost perfect, almost great, however, instead of giving it medium pen, something to make it truly stand out (So it'd shoot more bullets but do less damage than the Revolver) instead, it is light penetration! The Verdict, has no difference from it, and the default variant besides damage and sounding cooler when firing! Very cool! I didn't want fun on the menu anyways!

If the developers had simply play tested any of their balance changes before pushing these updates, then I may not whine like everyone else does about balance. But if you walk away from this review, let me highlight the only important thing about it.

The balancing in Helldivers sucks. The balancing is the single most problematic thing, with this game, spare the sony drama.

We get the Emancipator exo, that sounds really cool right? 4 autocannons- oh wait! It cannot reload it's main guns, it's fragile like the last one, and it has no ammo! On top of that, it's shooting autocannon sentry rounds, so instead of having any limb damage, it has none! That's terrible!!! Paired with a 12 minute cooldown timer,, it's no wonder no-one EVER Uses the exosuits! I have, absolutely 0 idea what the devs are doing, or what the appeal of half the things they add are if they just nerf them and ruin them like this!

Overall, Helldivers 2 is a great game, however seemingly the same people that put it together, and the company overseeing the chain on the developers leash, both suck at their single most job of making me a player have an enjoyable time. It feels like the same grind from War Thunder, but unlike War Thunder, my progressive end game currently culminates into the same meta everyone else uses because the guns are so severely nerfed to a point of uselessness.

I rate negatively because the cons outweigh the pros, but I did enjoy my time
Price for what you get (15 hours of content for me to beat where I never truly idled.) is fair, and I enjoyed it somewhat.

Thanks for the 1k points loser lol

I watched this game for 5 years and lurked in their discord. There are obviously some things I don't agree on from there, but I'll cut to the chase and just single out what I liked and didn't like. Oh also should mention Stuff like this, really should tell you who this game was made for. It's kinda disgusting... Almost 100% that's a minor. If that doesn't tell you who it's for, this will! This is the games discord moderator. It doesn't leave much room to guess why when, most the staff are like this that the game came out so jank. Also Pretty sure this breaks ToS. It just feels like the game was fueled by discord mental illness, and supplemented by cope.

What I liked;
>Minigames were entertaining
>Main Cast (Echo, Dolus, Thea)
>Somewhat unique enemy design
>Some funny moments
>Neat combat aesthetic
>The Gym fight
>Strong demo/start story
>Mostly good OST[knucklesandwichgame.bandcamp.com]
>Lot of unexpected animation for the game

Problems!
>Limited inventory, especially when key items are needed, you must throw away things in your inventory. Dumb!
>The beginning and end of the story was thought out, everything in the middle didn't feel the same...
>Total lack of shops, I maybe visited them 3-5 times throughout the story.
>You are constantly talked at, and have no choice
> The world map constantly went unused in my game, there was never a reason to backtrack
>Extremely uncompelling story, I never felt motivated to complete this game.
The only reason I completed it was because I was streaming it to a buddy.
>Some attacks are worse than others Crit Bars<Vertical<Circle, Circle is the best.
>Poorly paced debuff notice very early in game (Because debuffs kick in later stages...)
>Acknowledging bad mechanics doesn't make them fun
>The story is thrown at you, you are getting a feel when suddenly Goblin Design Tower???
>Unoriginality, -10 points!

What I absolutely hated;
>Lack of a pause menu to reload a save in combat
>Bad minigames (Skeleton Crew Space Game too difficult, turnip UFO too difficult, there are others...)
>Enemies spamming repetitive unavoidable debuffs
>Usage of corruption within the games world is an eyesore, and hard to navigate...
>You kill someone, then get this- You never do it again and it barely matters.
>The Cry & Shame Battle didn't need to exist when there's only 1 valid option. Dumb!
>Multiple soundtracks contain various amounts of strange burping etc. I just don't jive with that.
>The main story is a mess, and hard to follow. It's surmised easily at the end, but still. A trainwreck...
>Strange 3D cutscenes with no expression, why have that at all? It's barely different from talking in 2D...
>A character using "Candy Crush"-like for his special instead of say, Tetris. A more suiting game for this.

Overview
I spectated this game for 5 years, a lot of time passed and I feel like a lot of content was just recycled to hastily create a story. There are obvious things I hate about the game, What I dislike the most, is that what is an obvious at the start suddenly becomes this HUGE reveal at the end, when you the player assumed it was just the developer taking an understandably lazy route in the art direction. I feel like, and this bothers me the most. The developer made all these assets, ran out of ideas, and hastily collages them together to make the end story this explains why you only make people unconscious (particularly bosses), while you constantly attack unexplained monsters that just say they love fighting. I feel this game had a lot going for it, and definitely could have been refined into a much better craft, but what I got in the end was a bunch of fanart and mental illness in a discord turning what could have been a grand game into a confusing mess. A wreck, much like the corruption it spews everywhere.

Overall, is it worth $20? Sure. Is it worth $10? Definitely. Is it worth more than either? No. Not at all.

I'd write more here about how it shares blatant similarities to other games say fighting what is essentially a mechanical earthbound enemy, or obvious tropes "Hey lets have everyone gather on Bad Guy island what could go wrong!", but to gist, it isn't a bad game. It isn't a legendary series gone wrong. It's just a disappointment. So much more could have been done with the game I feel and the premise definitely was a good hook, but it quickly just fell off, and rams a bunch of information down your throat at the end. It feels sloppy, like it was just rushed out because he had been sitting on it for so long.

Oh another thing that bugs me. The twist was extremely predictable. It was constantly explained away by a singular party member apparently being into amateur detective work, but who would have guessed they're bad at it?

I want to note that cope, cringe, whatever- I don't usually use these words. But genuinely a lot of the game is just that. "Oh it's good enough.", I expected a lot more out of the game, and I think at one point direction was a lot different than what we got. But what we got leaves me wanting anything else. The game has it's ups and downs, but every time the characters do an animation to represent how you the player feels, doesn't make that sequence suck any less. It just helps affirm "Oh they really, didn't know what they were doing."

I will say this though to finish it off.
The fight between 2 blatant women against you and Dolus was probably my favorite part of the game. It did have some things I didn't like (how you can't do any variety beyond spamming a fight and specials) but I loved it. I loved the commentators commenting, I loved that it wasn't about damage but spectator appeal, I loved it so much. It really struck a chord with me with how great it was. It was fun to do especially when I realized it wasn't about winning the fight, but more so about surviving and making the crowd cheer you on.

Everything not made by 343, spare the graphical retextures, is actually pretty good and enjoyable. Also a competent port despite the companies garbage reputation. Very few hiccups and bugs.

You cannot play without an account
*You must create a Nebula account to play the game.
*There is no offline mode
*You must matchmake, to play alone [servers are currently dead :)))]
*Severe lack of masks etc to add a reason to play
*Always online
*Stupidly bad controller deadzoning
*Chat censorship

With some glaring issues, I think a lot of refinement could probably make a good game. Emphasis on probably.

New unique mechanics sound fun on paper, such as using a blacklight to find the keycode on the door- or safecracking, and trading hostages / using bullet shields is unique, but with everything listed above this game will probably go down in history as one of their worst releases ever.

I assume the servers are online because of cheaters, but I recall the lead dev being completely okay with them in 2, and eventually the game out-lived the cheat developers. so what happened here? Why am I having to play online, just to play alone?

Overall; The game doesn't feel rushed, it feels like the devs just made extremely poor decisions, a lot of gameplay is salvageable, they just need to make the game more accessible / player friendly, and update it. I think I speak for all that, this is definitely a step in the right direction, with all the wrong QoL in that direction.

I am glad I bought this from someone, and not directly from Bethesda

Lets quickly run down why this game sucks and blows
1: Super boring surveying system, No Mans Sky does better.
2: Super boring RNG Dungeons when landing, they all repeat and there's only 1 variant. Have fun!
3: The fact you constantly just fast travel because the game is set in space, but you do this constantly. No video calls or anything.
4: The 2 human factions mean nothing, they're both good guys and there is no war. The war is mentioned in logs and lore and you're supposed to just know, but there's no active wars going on. Nothing cool or unique to see.
5: Horrific bugs in which your space ship will be slowly deleted, or New Atlantis won't generate the floor.
6: Story is easily forgettable and relies on NG+, this makes the entire product feel rushed. Why do we keep enabling Bethesda to just churn out garbage? You could probably beat the game in 5-10 hours if you tried, but I suspect even faster.
7: There are laser guns, no plasma guns for some reason, magical buffs like your gun igniting someone for no reason, or being better at bashing, and ballistic firearms still reign supreme. Also there's a caseless shotgun. Why? Caseless ammunition is bad!
8: Most characters are now essential, and cannot be killed. They are also annoying and beg to be shot.
*I will not list more, but consider things like daring to pick up an object is now considered a crime! Random gen NPC's also look god awful!

Now lets dig into what was good
1: When the game wasn't random gen, things like Kryxx's Legacy were genuinely well made, and cool.
2: The spaceship designer is neat, and upgrading your ship is fun, but I hate the fact the camera is inverted in the designer.
3: Gun modifications when allowed, is neat, but limiting. But still requires random resources.
4: A much more sleek and unique character creation system.

Overall, It definitely feels like a hollow frame. They could have done so much more with the game, but current day Bethesda is garbage. A shadow of it's former self.

The release of this DLC has reminded me how inept the developers of it are.

I don't even care about the price, to be entirely honest- however, the developers are the most technically incapable I have seen and this DLC & It's power creep have only reminded me of that,.

The game is so unoptimized I witness my GPU go to 100% not because it's utilizing the resources properly but because the game fails to actually process them. It's honestly insulting how pathetically optimized this game is.

Anyways DLC content surmised in a simple sentence.
Everyone now gets very few new units (+2), and a couple new heros, and the units are so broken they now fix the prior issues with these factions.

I can't review all the lords, I really never care for Kislev etc, I only cared for the Changeling, and he's just a horde faction that is forced to pretend it's doing anything- this isn't to suggest he isn't fun but tbh I'd rather have him be a $5 DLC than this.

Also on the technical scope of CA, the game still randomly crashes the longer it goes on for.
This means immortal empires campaigns are not immortal but on a doom timer before the game can be played in full. I am anything but happy with the technical capabilities of CA staff but more primarily when the only big changes promised to 3 as compared to 2 were lighting and engine overhauls that seemingly resulted in a buggy, shaking pile of garbage.

Not worth $60 lol
Lightly addressing the game, Ghost recon breakpoint has major issues in regards to crashing, and odd technical issues with ubisoft servers (spending 10 minutes trying to join a friend) alongside some far and few bugs that are hilarious and insufferable soy filled NPC's. Luckily the game lets you shoot them- sometimes.

Wildlands is definitely the superior game. I look at this one and I see animations that are unnecessary but replayed every time- The drones are also annoying and as a stealth tactical game, take away from it. Not to mention Juggernaut enemies that always take 2 shots, no matter what caliber (be it .50cal, or 9mm)

The flaws present in the game are not worth the asking price, but the failure to have stability causing your game to crash, and on top of that the annoying uplay software, and then ubisoft servers, is salt on the wound.

A hard review

The Cult of Holy Detonation is the final DLC for Wasteland 3, and something I had hopes for. In turn I received nothing good. I see a lot of positive reviews that I dislike. Particularly because they remain ignorant to the inherent flaws of this DLC.

Having played some of it, here are some general criticisms;

Artificial Combat Length
This DLC is packed full of enemies and obstacles that will continuously spawn enemies until a criteria is met this makes some meager, drawn out combat. You can spend 30 minutes, killing the same enemy type, and this is this DLC's trope. while Steeltown had some things I hated, I hate this more. There are no skillchecks you can use to get around these engagements either, many of them are tedious and obnoxious. This leads to long, drawn out areas of the 6 playable areas. And don't worry, This indefinite fight mechanic will carry out on every battle in this DLC.

Obnoxious character chime ins
Have you ever just, had a set of politics you stand by, and then you hear the other side that spews out garbage that you just hate? Anyone, can apply this to any political spectrum, but this is done here, in the most annoying way, much like Fallout 3's Three Dog, or Radio New Vegas in FNV, you will receive a group commentating on your choices and play through. Why are they bad? Because they are utterly annoying. These characters will pick up on everything you have done throughout the game, and commentate on it, always negative. It doesn't matter what you've done, they find it bad. This makes them hypocritical and even more annoying. Now, you can put up with this but they don't shut up either, and instead haunt you throughout the DLC. Very annoying! Unlike the Teens from Colorado Springs, you can't dispose or harm them either, you are forced to listen to them blabber on about how you're bad no matter what option you made. So you the player, may want to dispose them- or harm them right? You cannot. When you finally locate the room they are hiding in they flee and insult you some more. You can't smash their computer, paint their brains on the walls, or do anything. You are stuck listening to them be utterly obnoxious the entire DLC. What an unnecessarily annoying way to greet player actions when the main combat point of this is already painful enough

And other than that, there's no real other cons.

I think the game has good lore, and good tie ins to other things, but the inclusion of the above items make this DLC a headache, and not a good time. Unlike steeltown I am just annoyed, frustrated, then constantly egged on. I am not a masochist, why did they think I'd enjoy this? So many other options could have been implemented but instead you get rinse and repeat repetitive combat, and annoying chatter. OST was definitely an improvement and I liked it much more than anything else, but unfortunately the main DLC didn't bring such fun.

I think the worst part of both these DLC's is, if you make one mistake, and don't have a correct save, your progress is down the drain, and your attention to the game is a huge turn off. Which is a shame, I think all these DLC's had potential to be good, but the unique mechanics per DLC is what makes them this bad. Everytime I play a DLC, my patience is tested, and my passion for the game is put in the wringer, as I attempt to have fun in them. It's hard to review any of these DLC's in a true honest fashion.

"I sell you a hamburger, spit on it, and tell you to make your own."

That's this game in a nutshell. Besides, look at the active player count. You won't find many people to play this with.
