Just giving a little feedback: I'm sure you (Valve) have your reasons for this, but I'm somewhat miffed that no past Next Fest games are allowed to participate. I admittedly botched my demo last June, and I wanted a chance to try again, but it doesn't seem like that'll happen now. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could find a way to let demos get another go, however that may be. Thanks

nextfest doesn't hold any "spark" to me, not like winter/summer sale by a long shot, and i don't want to be rushed to play demo's. Wish nextfest would be just a showcase of demo's to keep the idea of demo's alive instead of how it is now.

I am planning to submit my game. But one thing I wonder about is why demos have to have specific store art, when they don't actually have a store page. I think a demo would be a lot easier to prepare if I could just assign one of my builds as "Free Demo" and have everything else be the same as the actual game by default. Just my two cents...

Basically that's what's happening. But your art has to be moved around so it does not get overlapped by the "demo" banner. It's not a big deal I guess.

This deadline is weird. It should be mid March instead of mid February.

I'm seeing the same. I hope they can sort this out soon...

If you are facing the same issue, just go to your games app page and under "Marketing Tools and Data" you can see the Steam Next Fest 2023 June 2023 link where you can register.

My mistake was that I had an old release date the I had not updated. I had to contact valve to move the release date to July 2023, and then it allowed me to submit to Next Fest.
