But you can heal a broken leg in minutes, and there are other 'beneficial' elements to the time compression in this game where real processes take seconds rather than minutes and hours - like skinning and butchering a carcass, making a fire drill, sewing up damaged clothes, etc.

Take KC76's tip - and mine - that if you can't or won't keep your thirst and hunger stats in the white then look at your gameplay. It's not that had after the first hour from spawning.

For those interested in actually playing the game, I recommend playing Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop instead. This version of the game is more up-to-date and gets frequent updates and also offers more content than a single campaign (up to 8 player limit, more weapons, etc.). That game is also free-to-play and has workshop mods.

AS:RD is almost exclusively played by Chinese. With how much garbage the devs have added/changed it isn’t really the same game anymore.

It also doesn’t give the funny TF2 hat so theres a minuscule asking new players coming in, and basically zero players willing to stay around given how much toxicity RD has.

There’s a reason the only people you see shilling RD have 800-3k hours in it.

Settlement Attacks random or scripted?

The only requirement for an attack is the settlement having at least 1 settler in it. Nothing else is required. The amount of food/water you have (both production and stored) increase the attack chance. But having food/water (or any other resource) in a settlement is not a requirement for an attack to be generated.
