try turning off gpu scaling, and use the displays osd menu and set the scaling method to scale, not stretch or native

For indie developers it's to help them eat and pay rent while they are still making the game. And to be honest, there is a somewhat predictable % of total revenue for the life of the game at 'launch'. It's rough, but it gives them some idea if the game is still worth finishing or if the remaining work will not be worth the time. You see it all the time, and some will eventually finish such games, but as we've all seen others will not. I have no doubt Hollywood Animal will be finished and not be one of those, but we all have examples in our libraries.

As for the AAA studios, it's about quarterly revenue. A lot of 'venture capital' (investors) have bought into studios because they make a lot of money, games are a huge business. But they do not want to wait years for a title to be released, they want cash flow. So we get half-baked games and then DLC released on a schedule to produce revenue on a consistent basis for a few quarters.

And lastly, because we keep buying them.

people not wanting secure boot, isnt because they are cheating (i mean look at the accounts off people complaining about this) its because its dumb. Its dumb as F* to force system settings on anything FOR anything. Everyone would be able to run the game fine without secure boot. but by forcing secure boot, they are locking a good half of the people wanting to play the game out, because of a system setting. A system setting that is a hassle to enable and for some people isnt possible to turn on because their motherboard doesnt support it.

The people complaining about secure boot are the same people that have windows 10 or older pc's
