i have seen it plenty of times and had it in my civ plenty of times, a nice start natural wonder that gives extra trade lenght..

Most people play without mods. There's like 6-7 million owners on Steam, only about 2.5 million subscribers to Harmony, and not everyone subscribed to mods uses mods every run.

I play an essentially vanilla with cosmetics run with every new expansion release, so I can get a feel for the actual new gameplay. The base gameplay is completely fine, and a lot of the "must have" mods a number of people often mention were made core recently or years ago without them realizing it.

Everyone has different tastes though, and for most people there are going to be at least small things here or there they might wish were changed and mods will allow that. You can turn an almost perfect game into a perfect game with mods. Or you can take a very good game and turn it into a different very good game with new content mods, just to give yourself something new to play. I just set up a mostly medieval modlist over the past hour or so, to start a new tribal run limited to medieval factions and mostly medieval tech, it's going to be a very different experience to a normal unmodded run, that's the kind of thing you can do with mods.

Mods aren't needed to enjoy RimWorld, but they can expand the replayability and fine-tune the experience to potentially make it better for any given individual.

Pritty cool. i put up 2 gates between my 2 systems i have stations on...

Needed 8000 energy each so i had to put up a powerstation near. .but its a fare jump so its cool to instant travel btw my bases now :) no warp needed.

There are only two gameplay modes out so far. Wave and Endless
Wave will end the game after 6 days after which it will give you a little victory message and ask you to quit or provide feedback. Sounds like what happened to you. Try endless if you want to play longer.
