Recluse players, you don't need to prioritize searching for staves...

Recluse has many different play styles depending on the RNG of that run. A good recluse can make due regardless of the RNG that happens though. However, much of her strength lies in her ability to loot. When I play Recluse, I am able to make one of the four strategies work to ensure I'm helpful to the team:

1. The Spell Caster
In this run, Recluse gets everything she wants early. She found stars of ruin for consistent DPS and just eats starlight shards when she's getting low on FP. She sits in the back and spams spells until her little heart is content

2. The Cocktail Artist [/h1]
When RNG isn't on your side and you just can't get much of a good spell, you fall to the different staves and seals you looted to create your cocktails. This run requires knowledge of what each element does when combined to be effective for the team, and the Recluse likely needed to run to a few Cathedrals, shacks, and forts to get that mix of elements. In this setting, the Recluse stays back to have appropriate time to mix and cast her cocktails safely while the frontline keeps aggro.

3. The Spell Sword
Perhaps you haven't found any fun spells, and due to a shifting earth or your team's routing, you couldn't snag many seals and staves along the way. But the RNG gods blessed you with a good INT weapon such as the Wing of Astel or Moonlight Greatsword. Better hope you snagged those HP buffs or you're souls intuition kicks in as this witch will be in the fray fighting alongside your Raider and Wylder

4. The Dry Run
No awesome spells, no awesome weapons, and no elements besides magic and fire? Tough run, you're screwed..... right? WRONG! This run will be much like the Spell Sword, but with the emphasis on cocktails rather than DPS using melee weapons. Every common shop will always have a lightning weapon and a fire weapon. It will also many times have holy as well. Spend your runes and buy any missing elements. You will start aggressive by applying your elements and collecting them. Once you have all three, you'll back away for your big attack. You can do this continuously for good DPS even if the run was rather mean to you.

In short, every run will fall into one of those four categories where you can still be highly useful to the team. Always start off assuming the Dry Run, and then adapt based on the drops you get. You should almost always prioritize #1 if you get a good spell. However, every category expects the recluse to be looting staves, seals, and weapons. Telling them to not look for staves, unless it's completely across a map, is generally not great advice.
