Forcing SecureBoot under the guise of "safety" to play a game

Posting this from James Krieger's article since everyone else on here are spineless hivemind cowards incapable of critical thinking or putting themselves in other people's shoes. If this were happening to you, you wouldn't be telling others they're in the wrong, but of course, it's never the company's the fault, it's the users fault for not wanting to abide by North Korean type regulations just to play a game.

"What Is Secure Boot?
- Your BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is the first thing that runs when you hit the power button. It's the foundation everything else is built on. Secure Boot is a feature that only allows "signed" programs to run—programs that have been given a special stamp of approval by Microsoft or your computer manufacturer.

Think of it this way: Imagine if your car required you to get permission from Ford or Chevy before you could change your own oil. That's essentially what we're talking about here.

Why This Should Scare You
- Here's where it gets real. When you enable Secure Boot for a game:

You're locking out legitimate software - Got a custom Linux installation? Use specialized diagnostic tools? Run older hardware drivers? Too bad. Secure Boot says no.

You're trusting a game company with system-level access - The same companies that can't keep their servers from getting hacked want access to your computer's most critical systems. What could go wrong?

You're setting a dangerous precedent - Today it's Battlefield. Tomorrow it's every game, every application, maybe even your web browser. Where does it end?

The Real Battle
- This isn't about stopping cheaters—that's just the cover story. This is about control. Big tech companies have been slowly tightening the noose around user freedom for years. Remember when you could actually own the games you bought? When you could mod them, run them offline, share them with friends?

Those days are dying, and requirements like Secure Boot are just another nail in the coffin.

What Cheating Has To Do With It
- EA claims this is all about anti-cheat. They say kernel-level anti-cheat (programs that run at the deepest level of your operating system) needs Secure Boot to be effective. But here's the thing—cheaters are still going to cheat. They always find a way. Meanwhile, honest players are the ones getting screwed.

You know what stops cheating? Good game design. Dedicated servers with active admins. Community involvement. Not invasive software that treats every player like a criminal.

The Bigger Picture
- This is part of a larger war on general-purpose computing. Tech companies don't want you to have a computer that can run whatever you want. They want you to have an appliance that only runs approved software—their software.

Your PC is becoming like an iPhone, locked down and controlled by corporate overlords who decide what you can and can't do with the hardware you paid for.

What You Can Do
- Vote with your wallet - Don't buy games that require Secure Boot. Money talks, and it's the only language these companies understand.

- Spread the word - Most people have no idea what Secure Boot even is. Educate them. Share this article. Start conversations.

- Support alternatives - There are still game developers who respect their players. Find them. Support them. Show the industry there's another way.

The Bottom Line
I'm not asking you to become some kind of digital freedom fighter. I'm asking you to think about what you're giving up every time you click "Accept" on another invasive requirement.

Today it's Secure Boot for a game. Tomorrow it might be biometric scanning to open Microsoft Word. At some point, we need to draw a line in the sand and say, "This far, no further."

The question is: Where's your line?"
its one setting mate it hasnt affected any of my programs.. not a single one .its not a method of control or whatever else conspiracy crap you spout out . its for security thats it ..not rocket science buddy
