VAC Ban Statistic
I think it would be a good idea to show the Vac ban statistic of each Vac secured game.

It would not only add more trust into the Vac system but also allow the users to see where there might be problems.

I do not see in any way how that could help cheater making cheat so it would be harmless.

If in a game like mw2, where there would be a very high percentage of players banned, it could be investigated to find a better solution to the problem that stopping a big part of the players to play.

I believe that more information is always good if harmless.

My point is that if there is this on Steam Stats

"Our on-going goal with Steam is to improve the service we offer customers. We believe that by sharing this data, we'll be able to spot problems earlier, improve the Steam service more efficiently, and ultimately build better products and experiences. Let us know what you think."

Why wouldn't Steam also show the VAC Bans statistics?

What would be the point of knowing that 5% of or 160 000 accounts got banned ?

The only thing it'll tell is that players get banned, and pretty much nothing else. So, it wouldn't be worth the implementation.
The point is that imagine this is a lot more than 5% on some games. It would mean that there is a problem within Vac or within how the game attract cheaters. The only way to know it is 5%, more or less is by showing the data.

Not really see it like that, and even more i like to ask, what will you do with it? i mean i assume Valve has, it and so dose the Dev of that game
VAC is already known as the best anti cheat system of its kind. Statistics aren't necessary and all hackers claim they are innocent.

That really depends on the game where is Vac. On mw2 it's been years he hasn't been updated and a HUGE par of the steam bans are from mw2. Isn't there something wrong?
Bans in this game might be for using mods in private matches.

A game with an old version of vac gets the most people banned. Imagine a game with 50% players banned. You would not want to know it because you thinks it's the best?
You can't tell the system is good when it hides the information.
http://vacbanned.com/view/statistics ?

2.5 million of 170 million scanned accounts is a number to work with.

yes, steam has that many accounts.

there is no old version of VAC, VAC uses hashlists since its beginning and those are maintained manually.

I know this website but it is not really correct data. It shows the percentage of account banned and the number total of account. Not the amount of account banned and the number of account with vac secured games.

So what do you want? A low percentage of bans or a high percentage? Low could suggest that they aren't detecting many cheaters and the game is rampant with people hacking all over the shop. High could suggest they are very good at detecting cheating and the only players left are legitimate.

OR

Low could suggest that there aren't many cheaters and the game is a nice place to be. High could suggest there are lots of players and they've detected lots but there's load more people left that are cheating!

How does it help you to know the number of banned players?

It doesn't matter what information we show you, you just seem dead set on sticking to whatever you believe. And it isn't true. That is called confirmation bias. You are looking for evidence to support your outlook...not actual statistics.

It's less than 1% for every VAC enabled game on steam.
As for MW2, there's nothing to investigate. Activisions game, Activisions rules. End of investigation.
Thanks for your opinions, after i read them all i think it wouldn't be as usefull as i imagined it. I was wrong.

If that number was 20%, or one in five, I'd know that cheating is prevalent in the game and would know better than waste my time on it until the loopholes are plugged.

the whole vac system is bad, it bans random users so what is the point?

It must not be that bad, as it banned your account.

And why did you feel the need to grave dig up a thread way over a year old and necro it ?

Funny how people only think VAC is "bad" after it bans their account. :steamfacepalm:
