1. Plug an Ethernet cord into your rig
2. Invest $600
3. Wrap foil around your dinosaur router and keep praying\
4. Request better internet access in your region and wait 5 years for your ISP to setup the infrastructure necessary
5. Move
6. Play SNES and NES games over netplay because there is less data transfer
Starlink is most like your only option if you're too young or too broke to move. Otherwise you have no options
However, there may be more to it than that.
If you're using wifi, then I'd strongly advise against it as household electrics WRECK wifi signals. Connect via cable wherever possible.
If symptoms still persist then start looking at other issues. Whether your router is stuck on a fridge or cooker or something with high wattage. Avoid that. Make sure your cables are all in good fettle and not wrapped around mains cords and so on. Reboot your router and update it's firmware.
Then when you've done all these things, then you can look further.
That first statement is a hyperbole, no modern electronics are killing wi-fi signal strength. I highly doubt messing with the cords or updating the firmware of his router is going to do anything but fill his lungs with more hopium. Sounds like a waste of time. Also there is no possible way he is the only person using internet in his entire town. Why would you assume that's the case and how does fiddling with cords fix that? He is probably underage and his parents pay for a cheap internet package or lives in a rural area with no service. Think crunchfyfrog, think.
Rubbish assertions without evidence.
First off, wifi IS notirously awful and is easily blocked by a variety of household electronics. That's easily demonstrable.
Furthermore, you are utterly missing the point.
The internet connection is a varied one - from your PC to the the hosts. many links. Here's the kicker. You CANNOT check their end, but you can check your own.
So simple process of elimination.
And yes, firmware updates and so on absolutely can and do fix errors like this. There's several threads about thsi sort of thing going back over the last 10 years on here that I know of.
I wrapped foil around my head and blocked telepathic control and improved bandwidth 👽😺
Please demonstrate how. You CANNOT unless you personally know the person and their PC.
I'm sorry, but as I explained, the most effective method of tackling problem users post on here is process of elimination.
We CANNOT know if they've done the basic things, so we have to start there. That's the whole point. Otherwise you risk going down a rabbit hole and wasting everyone's time.
- Choose a game server thats geographically clsoest to you:
- Do'nt use streaming or other data hungry apps while gaming.
- Go with a direct wired connection to your PC as opposed to wifi if possible.
- Upgrade your internet package
EDIT:
- COnsider changing ISPs
These are about the only things you can do.
Yup. This is what I meant to you OP when I said to check out the things your end. Not just because you HAVE to make sure by process of elimination that these things aren't the issue, but even if it results in chasing up your ISP, say, they will absolutely need to know whether you've checked everything your end.
Just ignore the other person who was trying to dismiss my claims. They don't know what they're talking about.
