Czech crowns
Hey steam can you add Czech currency (Czech crowns)? I think Czechs will be happy.

Be careful what you wish for, trading cards and items can be a pain because of currency related quirks. For example, I just can't buy cards in GBP at the 'sell' price because MY item will never buy at that price - someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that if there's people selling in dollars and the dollar price is a fraction of a penny above the GBP price then my price looks the same by my item never buys. I'd much rather buy and sell in USD, it's not a fair playing field otherwise. And yes, I have looked at the sell chart and calculated roughly how long it should take for my item to buy - it always take a lot lot longer and sometimes my items just don't sell even though items are selling at and below the price I set :steamsad:

Valve is always trying to add more currencies to Steam. They added 9 last year. Maybe they will get to yours too...?

In fact, games on Steam are more expensive due to CZK not being supported and EUR being there instead. People say a game costs 15 USD (around 300 CZK) so I go to the steam site as it's cheap, but when I see the price in EUR it's the same, 15 but in EUR. Which is, with the conversion rate of 25 CZK per EUR, 375 CZK! Which is a 75 CZK difference. If you saved that 75 CZK, you could buy yourself some nice food or stuff. Come on Steam, please add CZK already. According to the statistics, only like 13% of the people here WANT euro here but the others are STRONGLY against it. So it will not become a thing here anytime soon. Anyways, if you added CZK, it wouldn't hurt, and as of the Euro conversion rate going wild (one time it's 27, one time 23, one time 26, one time 29, etc.) we would NOT have to convert every price to CZK. It would make things easier for the Czech people and all. :(

Valve talks about adding currencies and other payment options here. Some where after 35:00. They just use Russia as the example...

The answer is, they're looking into it.

But just remember that if it does happen, publishers still need to update the prices for the new currency. That will either mean the prices might be lower/higher after or if no price was set, the game is unavailable for purchase until they do.

If/when they plan on adding new currencies, they will let the devs/pubs know first and remind them again before it goes live.

For the latter...

You can even look through them and see when they added others. Feel free to RSS it or check in in November as that is when they usually add them.

For AUD in 2018...

For the others in 2017...

of course poland is supported.

dunno if you live under one but poland is a rock in gaming. many successful professional players, teams and big major esport events are held in poland. of course they receive way earlier support then czech.

and czechs most successful professional gamer is .. StanCifka in hearthstone.

that is a worlds difference. poland is a first world gaming nation, you're not.

It isn't my fault that I do live in Czech Republic, you idiot. But we should NOT pay in EUR only for being a smaller country. If I could pick a country, I would definetely NOT pick this but here I am, paying 75 more CZK for a game that would NORMALLY cost 300 CZK.

I just do not want the prices in EUR anymore. If a smaller country like Poland deserved their own prices on steam, we SHOULD deserve too. Otherwise I will just stop using Steam until they add our currency and make the prices more balanced. This is discrimination, having to pay more for games just because we ARE a in country that we are in.
