Hide profile pictures option

[Yellow]

Ability to turn off profile pictures of all users (should be you and goes without saying.)

Affects only the user who has it activated (Should go without saying)
Belive it or not some people prefer this older style of forum browsing
It would help me and others memorize actual names of forum users
Just like some people prefer books over televisions and movies I prefer this as to seeing a avatar.

Why should you force pictures upon people especially those that just don't want to see them? Deal with it is not a solution; why should I deal with it and not promote a change that doesn't affect you at all but only to some users? Because you don't like the fact that I don't see your avatar? Get over it.
It's like optimizing a game (Content wise completed) for the most used cards and any other issue you tell the customer to go away even though they have a good card.

This was already tried on the old forums. Didn't work that good.
It basically breaks the discussions flow. Since even if you don't see that person's posts, you're going to still see the replies and quotes of other people to that post, making the feature useless.

How about some of these pictures that are on the internet actually hurt what i'm trying to imagine in real life. Trying to write a book man, sometimes I just see something that totally screws with what trying to imagine and makes it harder to write. Hence the blocking people or hiding their pictures.
I don't think disabling pictures on forums (as an option) would be that bad of an option. I want to actually remember names and not a picture.

I think you need to lose the attitude of being a prick. By your standards I could just come onto forums with gay porn on my profile picture. Forget any of the children who don't want to see that, they're to self important. I don't evens see how it affects you if I choose to hide a picture or not, no you just wanted to jump on blocking and call me an idiot.

Not really useless if the main reason for that is if you wanted to see a picture taken off.

All I can find or topics about disabling pictures in games and every one being a smart ass to the original poster. My bad. The option only exists in the friends window. 'Show Avatar' There actually doesn't seem to be a way to disable profile pictures generally.

I think most are refering to 2, not to 1, that i think most will agree/have no problem with
And i do think it needs to be a stand alone sitting on famliy view and not part of all the commuinty like its now

1: You can change the image to a blank or or the default question mark. I see no reason to hide it on the forums.

2: Was tried in the old forums. Didn't work out as it did not solve any issues. If you want a private conversation, then you need to post it in a private area. These are public forums where anyone in good standing can post.

If you have an issue with someone posting something, then use the report button.

Sure why not. It doesn't affect anybody only the person using it. Probably would need new rules like no 2 or more users can have the same picture. Also get past these issue than you can implement.
1. Hard to search for other people
2. Enforcing a no 2 same pictures rule
3. Steam users that do not upload pictures will just me question marks
3a. How would you make it easy for others if you force them to change it? Basically you have to enforce uploading different pictures, have fun registering!
3b. It would be confusing to see everyone with the same no avatar.
It's just not practical or logical. I know I'll probably never get a reply back from you but it's seriously not convenient at all. Names are easy to do, there are still places where its names only on forums. How about you give me a real reason why it shouldn't be implemented.

You misunderstood that. I meant to disable all profile pictures for every user on the forums. This would only be for you (it should go without saying.)
