Bought wrong game edition
Okay, I bought the wrong ESO edition on my account. I need it refunded so that I can buy the other version. But the store won't let me buy another version until my refund goes through, and that can take 4-5 days. The sale ends tomorrow! Anybody know tips or a work around?

so you think you will get a refund?

You can buy and store it in your inventory for later. :DEALWITHIT::SHOPPINGSPREE:

Yeah, I think I'll get a refund. It's less than 14 days since purchase and I only logged on once, less than an hour. And I'd like to buy it and store it in the inventory, but the buy option is greyed out. It says I already bought it.

Not the best option, but another account on Steam, a very trusted friend in real life maybe, can buy it now and gift it to you.

Or, again not the best solution, but you can make another account and buy it on that account and gift it to the other one once the refund is over.

That's a fantastic idea!! Thank you Giving One!!! I really appreciate it. It sucks that there's no customer service phone number, but that's a great work around. Thank you!

Glad you like that, and of course it is not the best solution and you will still have to wait until the refund is done so you can activate the gifted game on your other account, but it should work.

Good luck to you in any case.

You have 4.3 hours on record (as seen on your profile). Chances are you will not get a refund.

If you buy the crown pack on sale (5500 crowns) you can buy the DLC bundle in-game and have what basicaly amounts to the Gold Edition (minus the mount and 500 crowns) for $23.99 more. That is only a little over what you would have paid for the Gold Edition.

I should have mentioned the potential to not get a refund as the good Spawn did, so OP, you may want to consider my suggestion a bit harder, as if you don't get the refund, you will be stuck with that game on the other account and then have wasted buying it again on a different account.

Sorry about that, and thanks good Spawn for pointing that out.

It's likely I'll get a refund, though, right? It meets the criteria the page listed. Only shows I played an hour (even though I didn't even play for that much) and I bought it less than 14 days ago.

The 4.3 is from the free weekend.

The actual game in my library shows 1 hour.

To be fair, it is more likely that you will not. I should have mentioned this in my suggestion to you above, because I don't want to give any bad advice here. So it is up to you. I suggest you wait until the refund process is finished and/or follow the purchasing suggestion made above by the good Spawn of Totoro.

Free weekend hours still count.

As hours through Family Share also count for both the one sharing and the one borrowing.

And hours from a previous play, such as buying a game, playing for an hour, refunding. Buy the game again, play for another hour. The total counts as two hours.

This was for the gold edition that I accidentally bought. It shows up as different hours on my account. The gold edition shows less than 2 hours. The base game I played during the free weekend. I'd normally wait for the refund, but then the sale price will be gone. Steam is the only big company I know of that doesn't allow immediate customer service for issues such as this.

Sorry. Gold edition of ESO is what I accidentally bought. I wanted to buy the base game. It's showing less than 2 hours for the gold version.
