Excessive "Off Topic review activity" periods are becoming concerning
So I've seen multiple games now where all reviews from the last 6+ months are regarded as off-topic reviews and the date just keeps extending indefinitely. Eg.I just ran into the issue with Cyberpunk 2077 and Book of Demons .

The common theme seems to be an obvious spike of off-topic activity somewhere around March due to some controversial statement about Ukraine/Russia, and I get why that might theoretically be an on-going problem, but surely there should be some repeat review process rather than extending the excluded reviews indefinitely?

Because in both examples above the off-topic reviews seem almost entirely isolated to a short initial period and Steam has continued to throw out thousands of good reviews from the other 5+ months for seemingly no good reason.

You mean throwing out thousands of junk one/two word "reviews" and maybe very occasionally an actually useful one?

That's not what OP is referring to. Book of Demons got around a 1000 negative reviews in March due to their stance in the Ukrain/Russia war. In the months after that, there haven't been posted many reviews (and none of them related to the war) and the ones that did get posted weren't off-topic, yet they are included in the same off-topic review filter.

Also, OP, both links lead to the Cyberpunk store page.

bug, will be looked at soon.
in the meantime you can remove the pre applied filter to exclude offtopic activity to see the recent reviews for affected games or change the store preferences in general

Well as long as the excessive off-topic window is actually a bug and Steam are aware of it, all's well I guess. I didn't actually any mention of it being a known bug in the linked topic, but the comment section there is kind of huge so I barely scratched the surface.

You serious?
Thats a crappy way to take a stance on something. Like sure, I get people dont want to hear about it when playing a game, but by ruining it for everyone is so backwards that even I struggle to see the logic in their reasoning beyond being to angry to think it through..
