Screenshots F12 not saving in my pc Steam folder
I'm not seeing my steam screenshots being saved in my pc folder. I therefore can't upload them to my online steam account. Yes, I do know where to look for them: From the steam menu, View and then screenshots selection. Any ideas what is going on ?

I can't find the screenshot. It's not even in the folder where it is meant to be automatically saved once I press F12

I have another image in that pc folder and that one .. for some reason is being recognized by steam when I want to upload it.

overlay disabled?

I did actually see the steam 'overlay while in-game' box UNticked. I just ticked it but when I again tried the F12 screeshot, image not saved in folder.

But does it appear in your Steam client at all? So if you use the 'screenshots' option there?

ok it's working now. I think it was a case where (as wuddih had suggested in comments), the overlay had been disabled. When I enabled the overlay in Settings, and tried the F12 screenshot function, it didn't initially work immediately until I restarted the Steam client program. Client is now saving the screenshots.

My screenshots stopped saving to my pc about 6 months ago ? ... how do I get them back again ?

I simply went to the Steam Settings section and I ticked the box marked as: "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" as suggested by the people in this thread.

Then I restarted the Steam program. That fix worked for me.

The popup for automatically seeing them when the game closes has defaulted to OFF since the revamp or whatever they did a few months ago.

You'll need to go in and toggle it back on, to get all your games to do it again like it used to.

The screenshots - provided you have the UI ENABLED - will always be stored in steam \ userdata \ your number \ 760 \ remote \ game ID number < the folders in there.

Some games additionally save them in their own dumb locations scattered all around your computer folder system.

But if you've got Steam's UI on, and have not changed the F12 feature to something else, they will be stored there regardless of whether the popup to upload them shows up after you exit the game. There are two separate click boxes now, the UI enable and the Screenshot window on exit.

For those who aren't seeing screenshots being saved to folder location you can pick in settings, you have to check the box for "Save an uncompressed copy" for it to go to that screenshots folder.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
