Can turn off relationship completely. Many players play like this as the mood bonus you get from friends and lovers can be undermined by enemies. (Yep crewmembers can even become enemies which leads them to constantly fight:D)

Regarding game controls, dunno i would say similar to the original X-Com game.
Sadly this game does not have separation between genders. This is some weird way to not offend 0.1-1% of all gamers. While annoy/anger more than 90% of gamers.
Good thing gamers are 0.1-1%, 90% out of that ain't much.
I thought this was ragebait at first, but then noticed you are part of one of the most stupid groups on steam which is the Woke detector that labels games like Rimworld(a game where you can just choose to make your empire the most bigoted/slave owner/organ harvester etc empire ever) as very Lgbtq coded

Actually, 95% of gamers don't give a single rip about how you snowflakes on either side feel about anything.

I've just realised that the game actually has gender-based separation, but it doesn't really affect the gameplay mechanics.
So, as @Duck Dodges confirmed, the OP and maybe the other guy are actual trolls on an activist mission of enforcing their worldview on everyone else and punishing any devs who won't bow to their activism.

Just to be clear about what this is.

Appart from visual differences. Do you have specific example where/how this separation is implemented?

You are very wrong. Charts show that more than 60% care about this specific subject to be normal/standard. 39% may be indifferent and less than 1% force ideolofies upon all the rest. Calling people snowflakes show that you are in this less than 1% of true toxic snowflakes.
Kos you're just edging yourself to be on a great many blocklists, gamers wanna game not debate. (well, in most Steam discussions, anyway). because he calls you a polititroll and then you rebut everything, serving to prove the point. now even if it's not true, it's perceived as though it is. just go easy, man. someone will make a mod and it'll be a moot point whatever the stupid numbers are.

This is f'ing ridiculous and not true.

Honestly, GTFO. You're just a toxic troll in here.

Like I said, you are on some kind of *ACTIVIST* mission to enforce your beliefs on everyone else, acting like you're doing the opposite. And as @Death and I have both said now, a mod will come out that will allow you to do this. You could even make the f'ing mod yourself and quit b*tching.
Well you can take your cup a tea and shove it up your very no h0m0 ass.
Okay I understand that gender politics CAN be a thing when it's affecting the story or mechanics of a game in a negative way (we do not talk about Dragon Age anymore...that dumpsterfire has burned down by now). But here we're talking about some rather pixelated characters, without any personality or story whatsoever. In fact the "crew" is as blank and anonymous as it gets.

Every dwarf in Dwarf Fortress has more personality than 10 or 20 of those...whatever they are. Having an issue with their GENDER (we're talking about non story, non sentient, non relevant, NPCs here) and relationship preferences, shows that one has a whole different bag of problems. Some self reflection would be a thing I'd start with.

Well, I have my game language set to German, and I can see that the endings of each crew member's job title differ between female and male characters. The game must therefore somehow "know" the difference, so the property must be present. I don't know if there are any other differences, though.
Don't feed the trolls... Just block and move on...
