Remove access to crew don't work as it should
So I have setup this nice little jail for those pesky slavers that tried to racket me as soon as I entered their system. The thing is, it's a little too nice as some of my crew keep hanging in there in their freetime, even tho they have a nicer recreation room elsewhere (probably a bit farther).
It's defined as a "prisoner zone" so my crew won't use their toilets, kitchen and medecine box, but they'll still use the medical bed and arcade in there, and keep staying in when on break..

That wouldn't be a problem if they didn't get punched in the face now and then..
So I tried using the permission for crew but that doesn't do anything, I tried the opposite (allowing the entire ship except the prison) with the allow tool but that dosn't do much either...

TLDR: Prisoner zone don't work on medical bed and arcade to restrain usage for crew. And I don't get the point of crew permission as I't doesn't work as you expect.

Ok so for medical bed you actually have an option to disallow usage for crew member but that's the only facility I could fix that way.
Prisoners shouldn't get entertainment facilities. It's a prison, not a resort.
thats a long time problem. starting with the implemention of the allow/deny zones. it works on kitchens, beds and loocus to block crew, but not on seats and entertainment machines.

I strongly believe in prisoner rehabilitation ;)

(don't think i'm too soft, the only prisoners I keep are the one I want to recruit, the other are executed on the spot and go feed my plants XD )

you're kidding right?

I have two prisons, a prison, and a club Med you can't leave. the ones with 9 and 10 stat go to club Med for stockholm syndrome and future recruitment, the others eat algae and sleep in a barracks (or the floor) til I sell em off.

but yes, as you're seeing, they can and will use facilities at hand, regardless. which is really annoying when you don't set an also-crew overlay!

I built a prison right off the main airlock of my ship, to keep them near the entrance... and returning crew who where drafted to take care of some wetwork, when I undraft them are in sleep cycle? when they hit the airlock cause there's gear to drop off, the nearest bunks are the prison, so like the little lemmings they are, always sleep in the prison barracks.

it really should honor the overlay for prisoners only, but there's obviously a hail mary for everyone... like prisoners leaving the prison area and going to a med bed when they need it, even if they're not allowed to.

there's lots of little things like this. you let some idiot out of stasis, look at their stats and say no, and you have no intention of taking them as refugees, they can die. then enemies come to that same derelict, and mr idiot gets caught in the crossfire and is down but not killed.... while you're cuffing your prisoners and picking up the dead? one of your guys comes and gets idiot, takes him to your ship and plops him in a med bed... now he's a stowaway. on your ship, but he's got to fully heal up, before a shuttle will take him back to the gutted derelict to die. :-) I just warp on out on my journey, and have a "door malfunction" where he ends up dead and in a composter anyway, without starting a war over his death.

Well if prisoner rehabilitation is the objective then crew interaction is encouraged as that can boost the rehabilitation. That rare black eye is just for entertainment purpose. So yeah, leave the entertainment facilities in the prison area. I mearly suggested it to have less reasons for your crew to go there.

Could have just accepted the "idiot" and then release him to the next friendly ship, which would have been in a few jumps at most. Unless you pissed off every faction.
Could have saved you all that hypothetical hassle.
And just because you have the name, doesn't mean you have to apply it at every encounter lol.

Yeah you're right actually, i noticed they often have a chat regardless of the occasional black eye lol.
I think I found a sweet middle ground tho: i rebuilt a small prison with only bunk beds, a couch and a table, but the prisoners are allowed to venture in the kitchen/recreation room next door, but like just the first few tiles. They can take food in the kitchen, interact with my crew, but are not allowed near the kitchen table and arcades, so they can have a taste of what they're missing by not joining yet, and so far it works like a charm, no one got punched yet, and I happen to recruited 2 prisoners with less than 5% chance :D
yeah it's not as hard as it used to be, you can turn on recruit as soon as you stuff em in prison usually, at lesat if it's a high-bonuses prison with perfect leisure and sleep rooms; kinda miss having to abuse them a little when they revolt. haven't seen it in forever.
