How do I get system points?

System points are generated by system cores which are in turn limited by the number of Core points your ship has which is detemined by the canvas size of the craft

so a 1x1 canvas gets you one core point, which lets you build a system core with 12 system points to allocate on machines that require them on your ship

so to increase your system points you have to increase the Core points first by increasing the ship canvas size
