To play encounters together you need another mod

Does progress for that come from singleplayer, so I want to reset progress if I want to do MP fresh with someone, or is it its own save file?

Also, is Downfall compatible with this? If so, is it good for n00bs, or is it meant after you've acquired some permanent progress in the game?

The only progress in StS is your own skill as a player, every run is fully self-contained.

Well you unlock classes and new stuff to find in the runs, is what I mean.

That happens quickly. It's more like you completed the tutorial when you unlock it all.

Alternately, there's the board game version. I just played it for the first time last weekend (4 players) and really enjoyed it.
