And unless the game sees major success, I wouldn't expect more than four characters, maybe five. A large part of the content is actually contained within each character (character-specific cards and relics), so each new character represents a lot of work and balance.

Yes, with so much content being built directly into each character, I imagine it's quite a lot of work for each.
Considering each Charector has a unique set of cards and interactions It's not suprsing that they take some time to make.

Apparently the next one is mechanical-like or the such (parts of it are already in the game files)
