Vigilance change.
Yeah this card for the watcher sucks now. 2 cost 8 block upgrades to 12 block? Come on guys, this is terrible. At the first opportunity this card should be dropped for another constant calm source. It was much better and presented some cool options when it was draw 3 cards. I know you are still balancing this stuff and hopefully you will find a better balance.

Eh, it depends. Watcher actually has pretty real issues with her hand filling up during her turn because she has both retain and absolutely ludicrous amounts of card draw. Vigilance already triggers Adaptation. I tend to find myself constantly sitting at 9-10 cards in hand anyway with 1-2 stacks of Adaptation, so the draw on Vigilance actually wouldn't even do anything. On the other hand, it's 12 block on a card that doesn't detract from a huge combo turn, and it's nice to get to the end of that big combo and see that you just happen to already be full blocking.

^Excellent summary, especially when people stop overlooking how it refunds itself.

I got used to it quickly, and the block is pretty nice. The draw could help setting up stuff, but there's still ways to draw on stance change, or just normally. The block makes it so you don't get wrecked as much when spending your turn on setting up calm.

lol what? It sucked before, it's way better now.
You can use it early on without taking a massive hit to the face.

Its Cost for what it blocks is a bit high, but other then that the change was a good one for the watcher

The draws was nice for act 3 but it very sucked for act 1. You took way too much damage for how much it's worthy.
Now is much better for act 1 and slightly underwhelming for act 3 which for a starter deck is good, especially now you can get a bit more greedy with act 1 elite so you can snowball.

Aside don't understimate the card. Vigilance + Empty mind is basically a shrug it off, Vigilance+ + Empty mind is a shrug it off+. Vigilance + Emply mind+ is backflip+, Making comparison with other characters cards, vigilance is quite nice. Combine with any other exit stance card is equal or slightly better of other characters good cards with similar effects. Also having adaptation or mental fortress and it's already lot better. Lot of Watcher's cards are trash, but Vigilance clearly isn't.

Alternatively Vigilance without any of the combo pieces is an expensive defend.

The strongest mechanic for the character is the stances(for now). If you don't have way to combo with calm, I don't know what it's wrong with you. Even if you want to play with wrath stance, you still want the 2 extra mana so you can throw more damage in the same turn.

Well, I think you can still beat act 3 boss without the stances but for what reason? Most of them are still good cards.

The bottom line imo for the change to vigilance is because in its previous form is was figuratively unplayable out-of-the-box. There isn't a single card in any character's starting deck that is NEVER the correct play in any hand of your first battle. Until vigilance with card draw. Until you get more cards that it combos with, it's actually unplayably bad. With block, you at least have a potential reason to use it (perhaps you draw 3 strikes, ascender's bane, and vigilance, and are facing a jawworm who's about to attack).

Lots of good replies here! Lots of good points. I've continued playing and the more I play the less I hate it, especially seeing some of the more recent patches where other cards provide better draw then they use to. Also Zu pointed out that it refunds it's self; while that payout isn't always a refund this turn I find that it is more times than not. However I would like to see it block for 10 base instead of 8. I'm sure this class will continue to evolve as all the others did and MegaCrit will do a great job as they always have.
