Is there a mod that removes Writhing Mass from the game?
Am I the only one who thinks this fight is incredibly stressful and unfair? It seems like terrible design. It gives you a curse, or hits you for 30+. There is no way to prepare for this fight either, it is just pure rng how bad it messes you up, unless you have an extremely good deck. If there is a mod that just removes it from the enemy pool I will gladly install it.

Hit it until it shows you a number you can handle. Then stop hitting it. Every deck should be expected to be able to do this. Some damage is also expected to be taken.

I'd support a change to make it never come up with a curse as what it changes to when you attack it. It should only curse as its initial attack that turn. Then I feel it would be a lot more fair.

Blame it on people who complained about reptomancer that it even exists.

Enjoy your pain in the ass fight :D.

i have found the easiest solution is to keep a smoke potion up for act 3

If I have a smoke pot at that stage I tend to save it for the tentacle from the ground thing. That is imo the real big threat of act 3 hallways

The options are parasite, 21 damage. 10 debuff, 15 note block, or 32 damage. You can try to hit it yo get to 10 or 15 damage which is nothing on act 3. I dont think it is punishing it is just different

I think the wither mass is fine but should have a prescribed order though.

I think a prescribed order would make this fight fair. I generally try not to savescum but this fight feels like such an RNG-fest that I savescum every time, sometimes multiple times per fight.

It's not meant to be that much RNG. If your deck is strong enough to block the biggest hit while vulnerable, it's a total non-consideration, for example, since you just never play your last attack that will get through his block unless his intent is mega debuff. Otherwise you may need to try to reroll the attack + debuff as well and it gets harder (as there is a 1/8 chance of that switching to mega debuff), or maybe just reroll the big attack (1/9 chance of switching to mega debuff).

The fewer attacks you need to play throughout the fight, the better. If you scale your damage without hitting him (poison, Thousand Cuts, strength scaling, orbs, etc.) then you can focus on defending; alternately, if you can scale your block to generate 60+ block a turn trivially then you can just follow the rule in the first paragraph about not saving one attack.

I never found the Tentacle that big of a deal. Now if the game forces you into an elite fight with the giant stone head thing... that's why I would keep a smoke bomb :papyrus:

Usually repto is my main problem elite. Certain elites just step on some builds so you need to be careful.
