Could devs reference what fonts effect which parts of the UI?
FYI, others in the thread, you can edit c:\\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Barotrauma\Content\UI\style.xml
In that file, search for text: Font. There's a whole block of font info in there, and it assigns each resolution a certain font size. I went through and increased all the font sizes by 50%.
Sorry about the delay in getting back to this thread, these have been busy weeks for our team!
PLEASE make it an independent slider from UI and HUD.
I say to make it a new slider because the HUD and UI sliders have a limit to how big they get before the chatbox overlaps with the inventory icons. Some people want a bigger chat box with smaller text, to allow more text in the chats to be visible.
I have thick glasses and sit far from the TV, so I need big text.
Awesome thank you for this.! Love your game!
4K on a 65" TV.
I think with stuff like this its better to be unsafe than sorry, let us set some stupid font sizes if possible and if it looks a bit messed up, then so be it, player choice right?
The slider is limited to 125% text scaling, but there is an easy-to-edit config file that will accept arbitrary and large values. You can edit config_player.xml and mess with the textscale option (100% = "1" ; 140% = "1.4"). Probably should edit this file when the game is not running.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Barotrauma\config_player.xml"
hudscale="1.05"
inventoryscale="1.05"
textscale="1.4"
These are the lines I changed to get good readability on a 58" HDTV (1080p).
The game's settings menu will report the numbers that you've entered, and the game so far does NOT overwrite the settings until I move the sliders around. It's possible to edit once and not worry about it anymore after. The sliders still only go up to 125%. The only annoying part is finding the right size (exit game, edit file, launch game, text is too big, exit game, edit file, etc).
