AC trying to force keyboard controls
So all the sudden when i boot up the game with my controller, the game keeps trying to make me use the keyboard. I can use the controller, but when im not pressing any buttons, it'll change back to pc controls as if it's fighting with me when im using the controller. For example, when im moving the cursor with my controller, it will flicker back and forth rapidly between the controller cursor and the mouse cursor. It's only happening to me on this game. Any particular reason it might be doing this all the sudden? Did I do something dumb?

Ok so it's not only me. It's super annoying and it makes the game choppy and unplayable!

That's definitely a weird bug that I don't believe the team is aware of yet. Are there any other players experiencing this problem?

I am facing the problem albeit in reverse.I suck at playing with a controller but that is the only way to get the beard and hair xD.The problem is long after my controller is unplugged i am still getting controller prompts.

I get that sometimes when a heavy truck drives by and the game picks up the tiny amount the mouse moves.
Try unplugging your mouse and see if it gets better.

You likely have auto-switching turned on. Switch it to keyboard and mouse or controller for exclusive use of either.

I am getting this issue myself. When I give no controller input it just flashes prompts rapidly between kbm/controller. I don't see any option for turning off auto-switching, or setting the game to only use one or the other.

Edit: I found auto-switch.... was hard to see any settings while fighting the controls. I still don't think that's proper behavior even with auto-switch enabled.

It may help to reach out to the support team[support.ubi.com] and send them your game files.[support.ubi.com] They can look over the files and see if there's anything that might be causing this behavior in-game.

I have the same problem but in all Ubisoft game, Watch Dogs, For Honor ans AC origin.
It really can't decide what input method to use.
It is really frustrating....

This isn't a bug, it's just poor design. My Special K software can block keyboard and mouse input to games that do stuff like this, it's unfortunately the only effective way. In some particularly hortrific games such as Final Fantasy XV, it loads the input icons synchronously, meaning it hits the disk for that image every time you press input on an alternate device and needless to say it's more annoying than simply seeing different icons when your framerate suddenly tanks.

I have a solution, just Quit Steam.

Because Steam let you control your cursor and bind key to butons on the controler, Ubisoft game see it as a keyboard and a controller at the same time.
