This game is irreparably bad.
Maybe when it was first introduced, it may have been a moderately decent game. However, in it's current state in 2022, this game is one of the worst overall, most inconsistent, truly broken and abandoned games I've played in a long time. Recently, I posted another discussion heavily detailing my own personal experience, and the multitudes of problems throughout this dumpster fire.

For having paid full price for this game last year, I believe I am owed money. Rarely do I ask for refunds for anything, but I feel that I should for this game. After 100+ hours put into this game, I can fairly say that the developer does not care about the quality of this game, nor do they have any intent on providing any support, feedback, fixes, quality of life updates, or otherwise. This only remains on the Steam store to benefit from purchases from people like myself who intend to give any game a fair chance.

That fair chance was clearly a mistake that the developers did NOT deserve to prosper from. My suggestion to anyone even considering this trash...don't. Go play just about any other game. I guarantee it will be better than Insurgency: Sandstorm.

Waaaaaaaaaa...cry more. While you're certainly entitled to your opinion, you've played a game you "loathe" for over 100 hours, so no you don't deserve a refund.

Don't like Sandstorm? Cool, suck it up buttercup and move on to another game. You won't be missed here.

Sandstorm have problems/bugs but most of community learned to just ignore it, Sandstrom in 2022 will have 4 years NWI is already working on new games so its nothing weird that making updates is very slow.

Most bugs which I had was visual only so it didn't broke gameplay for me. (I don't count broken AI and crashes as bugs).

This guy just stated why he doesn't like the game. Trying to ridicule him for it suggests that you are only allowed to write something good about games and shouldn't ever criticise them.
Thankfully he isn't actually as stupid as you and he helped me realise I shouldn't buy the game, because I was considering that until I read this thread.

So thank you furry boss, you saved me some bucks.

My main complaint will always be the explosions clipping through roofs. It's almost impossible to avoid those when your only cover is a house or small building. Even prone can't protect me from that bullshìt sometimes. Other than that, I also hate how smoke clips through walls as well.

I really hope they make a much more polished Insurgency next time because I really enjoyed the game's mechanics.

You played over 100 hours. You just basicly said that the game is good.

The amount of time somebody spends in a game doesn't mean they like it or not. I have over a thousand hours, because the game used to be good. I have stopped playing because it changed for the worse.

Besides, when somebody has five hours and says a game has issues, the comeback is "but you only have five hours lol, you can't possibly know what you're talking about, the game gets better later on, promise!" When somebody has an 'acceptable' amount of hours, the comeback is "well you spent like 400 hours playing, so it must be good, otherwise you wouldn't be playing it lol."

Frankly, OP's sentiment is in tune with how the game has been changed since 2019.

You are welcome, random citizen! I do what I can.

What I said was somebody can buy a game, go "yeah this is a great game I'm gonna only play it and no other game for now" and then when there's an update that drastically changes the game (in more ways than one), that means this same person who has hours of game time will no longer enjoy it - it's not the same game that they initially paid for, in a way.

I played since 2019, I stopped this February because of a terrible update that introduced a bug (among many other serious issues the game has) that was the last straw for me. I have 1,003 hours according to Steam on record and I used to recommend this game to everyone, but over the last year and a half it has only been changing for the worse and more people I played with and servers I played on kept going away and moving to other (less broken) games.

But the fact I have 1,003 hours doesn't mean I think the game is good in it's current state. That seems to be what OP was getting at: At launch, the game was indeed good. But right now, after four years of constant tweaks, edits, removals, additions and fixes it is vastly different from what it once was and it is driving people away (like me and my buddies) who will be hard to win back, if at all.

I literally did not say that, but you're welcome to gather incorrect interpretations.

That is unfortunately very true. Funny thing is that sometimes the people I throw grenades at will just take the explosion in stride and continue on. Not even lying prone, like literally walking on top of the grenade as it explodes. The game is HORRIBLY inconsistent. In addition to being very poorly programmed in a multitude of ways.

Precisely. I gave this game everything I could to give it a fair chance. I tried out every weapon, every potential loadout, all of the maps, everything. I wanted to be sure I hadn't missed anything, because so many people claimed this game was really good. With the ratings it has on the Steam store, I wanted to be sure it got a fair shake.

As with all FPS games I have played in the last two decades, I give them as much effort and chance of credibility as they are worth. Hence why games like Combat Arms have only an hour or two of playtime, while Team Fortress 2 has like 300. If the game is genuinely good, or has some reason for me to continue trying to playing it for longer, I will give it that time. At least until I have come to find that it is no longer worth my time.

bruh you said "after putting over 100 hours into the game"

100 hours really isn't that much time to invest in anything in a hobby. People who think that is an exorbitant amount of time in a hobby may also be the types to expect instant gratification. Which is on par with more recent generations who expect instant results rather than invested work, time, and effort.

Which would also explain why there are SO many modders, hackers, and people taking shortcuts in online games these days. Whatever is the quickest and easiest route to artificial talent, I suppose.
