As for pants, there's jeans, tracksuit pants, and the new DLC cargo pants. I'd imagine there is more to come in the future, so don't worry 'bout it.
For security, the only reason it hasn't happened is because the devs believe that it would be hard to tell who is who from a side vs side perspective. I can agree, but only in the terms of PvP and maybe hardcore.
I think security deserve some black clothes, atleast for coop, but I wouldn't count on it.
Thats the excuse posted from devs all time...the real reason is the sensitive topic...(ISIS styled beards and layout would make it just easier to indicate.). Also, this game is the last one to not beeing able to see enemy/mate. It has good indicators allready.
black skull mask
black glasses
black leather top
black leather gloves
black cargo pants
black boots
there's plenty of black clothing including track suits, masks, pants, shoes, gloves, etc.
as far as imitating ISIS, the EDRL camo on security forces is what real world ISIS uses as their uniform. ISIS would also be the equivalent of "security" forces in sandstorm because they are the military force of the local islamic governments.
and the insurgents look like old school al qaeda/insurgents in the middle east, which would be fighting the islamic government.
insurgency however is a fictional conflict, so technically none of this matters.
the reason not to have black clothing on security forces is that it causes issues with target recognition, which is a gameplay decision. the uniforms are distinct so you know who you're shooting at.
I have no problem with devs developing a unicorm lightning that show you ever enemy 4 free to be honest.
However I dont share your view about enemies not viewable in this game and beeing "one" with shadow...also, black clothes are available allready, but wrong clothes (black sport pants is not what ISIS was wearing all the time).
Instead of looking like you are a matching part of the scenery as olive/tan etc will, black will make you further stand out as a humanoid shaped shadow against your background that's easier to see. Even grey is better.
They're mainly for imtimidation (Like those worn by SWAT / Spec Ops), I reckon.
Security can have black shell jacket like BEAR wears in EFT, but I am wanting too much then, am I?
Then POLYPAT (In-game version of OCP ACU / MultiCam) is good to go (I'm using it with "Slim Fit" & "Combat Pants" which are based on Crye ACS & ACP respectively), considering it only costs 500 credits & full POLYPAT camo setup (With both uniform & gears) only cost 2000 credits.
I'm pretty much running maximum Slav setup with classic black/white Adidas tracksuits & sneakers, complete with black leather gloves & one hole balaclava for LULs & intimidation.
Makes no sense. There are black clothes ingame allready (used by Idk 70% of ins).
Would be nice to have just other clothes, not sport only for immersion reasons.
