It's a bug or some stupid sort of „balance“. I did have the exact same problem as you yesterday: As soon as I played as MG and lay down: Flickshot, dead. Waited til respawn, run 5 seconds to cover a street, lay down, flickshot, dead. Repeat.
Got frustrated, changed class, never had one flickshot again the whole round.
It's a bug or feature.
And it has to be adressed. If you lay down in rl, you are a smaller target and way harder to hit, not the other way around.
^^^^^^^Adapt and Overcome^^^^^^^ Do what ya gotta do to prevail/win.
I agree, BUT, when you are laying down, the first thing that's hit is your head...
Thats because in Insurgency everyone used AP rounds, which made every gun including pistols 1 shot everything.
That's just personal experience tempered by not paying attention to your surroundings. If you pay attention as MG and set up around corners, nothing has any time to shoot you because they're missing hugeass chunks thanks to all the 7.62.51 you thoughtfully gifted everyone.
Additionally, learning to react by crouching, snapping to target, and firing once is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useful as MG. SAW need not apply.
Like that but.♥♥♥.er AI that is sprinting perpendicular to you facing 90 deg away with their gun lowered and headshots you before you can even ADS. They never stop sprinting and never even raise their gun in your direction.
I understand that AI uses... well, aimbot. But what makes COOP nuanced is coding that causes them to perform more like humans than computers.
That said, the AI behavior still needs some tweeking.
Absolutely :) I'm more on the sim-side of things, so in my eyes, nothing has to be fair. That's why I don't like scripted balancing. Bots should be hard, unfair, flanking nightmares, but they shouldn't act like gods or have total unrealistic behaviour.
But I never used the M240B before, I always took the PKM. Perhaps its a 240B thing ...
@Commisar: It's not about experience or not being able to single fire, I do that a lot, I have perhaps 200 hours with the PKM alone in Sandstorm. Something was off this day, might be a coincidence, might be a bug. Have to test this a little, as it was my first time with the 240B.
