Is there a way to cheese Core Stone Tyrant-Weed?

They were siblings.

Luckily it was Hazard 4.

The korlok won't spawn more and you can focus on clearing the corestone first.

driller can simply dig all the way around
you won the rng lottery there.

Sounds like a good challenge seed. Having a hard time finding an updated mod that supports that event though.

AND On Hollow Bough- The RNG Just Hated You On That One-
It Happens, But Usually Not THAT BAD- Impressive You All Survived It
If you trigger both events you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Better hope you have cryo, slowdown, and a Driller to deal with both core spawn and korlok sprouts, along with digging to expose the spots the healing pod can spawn. If you only trigger korlok, kill it first and leave the core stone the hell alone.
We initially focused the Korlok only (although we still had to deal with the occasional Crawlers), but eventually, a stray shot must have triggered the Core Stone shortly before the screenshot.

Can't remember the Scout's loadout without rewatching the recording (edit: pew pew gun and boomstick), but Gunner had neurotoxin autocannon and coilgun, and Driller had sludge pump and plasma.

We ended up taking care of both simultaneously, but the Core Stone died first and the Korlok followed shortly thereafter.

It helps that any damage over time prevented the Korlok sprouts from shooting.

Really bad luck, congratz on completing it

No resupply with everyone at half ammo must be harrowing

Believe Engineer turrets will trigger Core Spawns when there are no more enemies to shoot

There was plenty enough nitra around to call 3 resupplies, so we never ran out of ammo. At least that was a good thing.

Also, I've tried deploying sentries very close to a Greater Core Stone during a solo game for my first ever Core Corruption warning. I can confirm that the sentries in fact did not shoot it (until I shot it myself to initiate the event), so it's totally safe to deploy them in front of it. It actually surprised me a bit at first.
You’re pretty much screwed if that type of RNG happens again. The core stone event is the most annoying. The korlok encounter alone is doable if you’re driller.

Sentries shoot the core stone unprovoked in multiplayer.

Ah, crap. Good to know.

This does sound like a good strat to me; whenever, during elimination, my group encounters an event (like a core infuser) and a dready's cocoon in the same room, we usually handle the dready first. Trying to piece-meal that as much as we can, and all it takes is a wayward shot to frontload it all into our faces if it were cocoon last. Meanwhile, the strat I quoted sounds like like a close means of "pacifying" one whilst you handle the other.

Edit: also, Korlok gets health regen later on, which often punishes divided DPS/attention in my experience, so another reason to save it for last, AFAIK.
