PS3 Button Prompt Mod
This mod replaces the Xbox styled button prompts with PS3 ones, using graphics taken directly from the PS3 version of the game.

This mod currently only supports the English language option

A bit of detail on what this mod includes...
The textures in the PS3 version are half the resolution of the ones on the PC version, so I took it upon myself to try and pretty up the textures as well as I could, so hopefully it should still look nice even on higher resolution displays.

Here's an imgur album showing what the mod looks like currently. http://imgur.com/a/ptvFc

What this mod currently covers:
  • All normal button graphics
  • All tutorial pop-ups, in both the Prologue and The Gates of Hell
  • All options menu graphics, including the control help screens for minigames
  • Combo list punch/kick/etc icons
  • English language only

What I would like to add/improve on in the future:
  • Improve alpha transparencies on the tutorial pop-ups. They're on-par with the originals but I could improve them further.
  • PS3-style D-pad for the item quick-select menu
  • Support for other languages

Additionally, by default the mod uses upscaled versions of the combo list icons from the PS3 version. Included in the download is an alternate version that uses the normal PC icons, but recolored to match the PS3 ones as closely as possible.

This mod was heavily inspired by (and reuses one graphic that does not have a proper PS3 counterpart) This ranking makes no sense's DS4 button mod, which I recommend you check out if you're looking for something a bit more sleek https://steamcommunity.com/app/460790/discussions/0/1319962514591974981/

Enjoy, and happy comboing!

Compared to the other mod you linked, this mod is far more comprehensive in what it replaces.
You should totally slap this onto the Guides section on Steam for more people to notice.
Hell, maybe even a walkthrough on how you made this mod would be great, because I was thinking of making a Wii U button prompt mod for myself and the 5 other people who prefer the Wii U Pro controller for this game.
Thanks for making this mod.

Awesome work. I'd love a DS4 version, or info on how to make one for myself.
Hope more peple see this.

Excellent stuff! It's really great to see a nice little modding community starting to spring up around Bayonetta, especially with seemingly simple but very useful changes like this.

Awesome! Thanks for the mod, Makise!

Very nice Mod, just started playing today and was instantly annoyed by the wrong button prompts :)

But why? every PS controller has the same buttons (square, cross, circle, triangle)... They aren't different at all.

The face buttons are the same, the only real difference is the Touchpad/Share button. I can imagine that being a controversial issue, seeing as some people would rather use the Touchpad as their select button, and some would rather use the Share button.

It's actually pretty cool if you bind Share to F12 so you can easily take Steam screenshots. One of the reasons I usually go with DS4 these days. But me personally, I like this mod since it restores things back to the original intent (with a few improvements) and I still feel like "Options" is a weird thing to call Start :P

Ay, I also bind the screenshot key to the Share button. It's really neat, especially for games that don't take kindly to Big Picture Mode's methond of screenshotting (the gamepad's home button and the RB simultaneously)
But again, fome people don't even like using the touchpad for some reason.

Great work, very comprehensive. Thanks.

I've finally gotten around to writing a texture modding tutorial to hopefully help people who are interested in making other button prompt mods and the like. I tried to make accessible for people who may not be wholly familiar with this kind of stuff without rambling on forever. Hopefully people find it helpful :megamagiclolli:

That's really cool. Hopefully someone can make some DS4 ones for Vanquish now that it is out on PC and all the other controller configs too.

Works perfectly, thanks for this!
