Running out of VRAM
I've been playing a modded game and occasionally Avorion will give a memory error because its near the VRAM limit. Usually this happens for the Into the Rift missions with the endless enemy spawning. Presumably the textures would be indexed so that wouldn't be causing VRAM to fill up. Maybe the wrecks that are hanging around are each using some VRAM for geometry?

Aside from turning down graphics settings or removing the mods that I like, would there be any other way to minimize VRAM usage for Avorion? Would it help to save/reload in the middle of rift missions? I currently have 8 gig of VRAM.

i think its bescue the game is suing the intergated grathics in the cpu and not the gpu sometimes. thats the main sorce of lag. if you lag alot it mght be the game is trying to use the cpu indreated grathics in the cpu instead of your deteaced gpu. try eaht in your gpu diver mamaent progame to force detcated gpu only. or you can try seting the gatichs setsings untill you reach the trashhold that makes adovron use the decaded gpu. also i don't have issues with advion sueing vram that much. this is beascue it would help if you had the game in a much smaler reasltuon like 2000x1800 ish or something like that in a window. also my 2015 27 inch imac only got like 2GB of vram so bascly it might be your full screen max reazltuon might be aboive 4k or 8k and thats hogs alot of VRAM moery for a big graschis heavy enety voxel block game like this. try rungi in window mode with the rezltuon at lest under 2000x1800 when runig this game. this is bescue the game will allways run in the largest screen sropted rez size in fullscreen mode wihout any way to have the fullsceen size to be any smaller manuly.

I was actually seeing usage approaching 8gig of vram in the performance monitor at times. I think its actually using all of the vram available. I'm not sure on the integrated graphics part. I don't really get a lot of frame drop during the gameplay except on large enemy spawns for a few seconds. Afterwards it smooths back out. Also I tend to run my monitor at 1080p as the UI is too small for me to see otherwise. It's set to 1080p in the nvidia control panel so the game thinks that's the native resolution.

Without SDK Station Overhaul running the vram isn't a problem. I think its likely just all the added geometry from that mod is pushing the engine too far.
