Singleplayer Low FPS/Lag

Issue Description

I have about 270 hours and just recently ran into this. Didn't play for a few months, but before that my game was fine; I am only now booting up the game after taking a long break. Only new thing was the Black Market DLC aside from regular updates.

From the moment I boot up the game it is laggy as all hell; the Boxelware logo and Steam prompt takes several seconds and loads slowly. Menu items like "Single Player," "Multiplayer," etc. take several seconds to respond for both the visual and audible cues. The ships/stations rotating are not smooth. I've turned every individual graphics setting down, and there is still a noticeable delay even without loading up the galaxy and playing. When I do load it up, the change in ship direction alone makes huge chops from the original starting point to wherever the cursor happens to land.

What I Tried

My initial impressions concerned the graphics settings, which did improve the overall performance when adjusted, but even on the lowest settings it is entirely unplayable.

The issue persists in galaxies with and without mods enabled.

I am playing with an entirely fresh galaxy with 1 ship.

Issue persists when installed on both SSD and HD.

Update: deleted all Avorion related files, unsubscribed from all mods, reinstalled Avorion without Black Market DLC - issue persists.

I've got Win7 x64, intel i5-3570k, 1070ti -- smooth 60 fps (vsync) with everything on ultra.

Try playing without mods? Your client log shows you have a bunch of mods loaded.

I completely forgot I posted this because you're literally the first person to respond.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics drivers. That fixed the issue.
