Mouse Stutter

I'm running the game on my laptop (I REALLY don't know the specs and the thought of trying to find them gives me anxiety, maybe someone can help me here if they're relevant) and it ran perfectly fine, at least to my satisfaction. Then a couple days ago, the camera began stuttering when I would move the mouse. Is it possible it's linked to a change I made in my ship? (I added a hangar and fighters) Or does the game not work that way? I'm rather clueless when it comes to this stuff so I apologize in advance for my lack of information.

There's probably a really easy way to test... Go into ship builder, save your ship design, then exit to main menu and start a creative game, create a ship and load your previous design. If the ship stutters again there, try deleting or converting components (like the hangars) and see if it goes away. If it goes away, then it looks like the game engine calculations are getting too overwhelming for your laptop

If it doesn't stop stuttering, you can check a few things. I've had a virus scan going in the background that I wasn't aware of, and it was causing big weird stutters in my computer. It could also be a bad network connection (if you are playing on a server, Wi-Fi can get messy). It could even be a low battery if you have a wireless mouse. It's one of those cases where you have to try to eliminate things one at a time until you find what's causing it.

Just a note: Don't change a ton of things all at once, that makes it very hard to figure out what the problem was. Then if it flares up later, you'll have no idea what particular thing fixed the issue.

Fixed it. I figured out how to switch from the relatively crappy onboard GPU to the better Nvidia one. I never really thought anything of the warning the game gave me every time I launched because it seemed to run fine. Boy was I wrong. Space looks so much more vibrant now.
