Mouse Pointer Invisible (RESOLVED - Maybe)

Reposting problem here.

on the initial avorian screen after starting, my mouse pointer disapears. If careful, can scroll over menu items and see them highlight - but the pointer is invisible.

Have read in various posts about disabling scaling, and changing executable properties. Installed and reinstalled. Have done these things but problem persists. Also, made sure windows scaling was at 100%. Changed this, was originally at max, 225%.

No other app or game (7days, Empyrion) on my system has this problem. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here.

Is this an avorion bug (I suspect so since everything else works), or a setting somewhere that would resolve it. Unplayable without a mouse pointer.

(UPDATE): Someone with more technical knowledge will need to answer why this worked. I am told game (most games dont?) should not be using desktop composition stuff, but avorion apparently does.

I looked through windows mouse options to be sure hide pointer when typing wasnt checked (it wasnt) and came across show location using ctrl. checked it just to see if maybe i could at least find pointer, even if invisible. hit apply. launched game. Now its working as it should. pointer is visible without hitting ctrl. so, did some config file (or something) get corrected when i hit apply?

Seems to me something needs changed in game to avoid this problem in future. No other app or game on my system was having this problem. I think it fairly safe to say it must be something in how avorion is coded.

Last week I had this issue myself, beforehand everything worked without question.

I've resolved this issue actively. I have a setup of 2 screens, one 6:9 the other 4:3. By installing the driver for the monitor windows knows how to handle the resolution better, and therefor the cursor. I had direct effect after applying it and removing the generic PnP monitor driver and updating it to the manufacturer.

Just applying the show cursor with CTRL worked for me. Thumbs up.

Dont use 'Display pointer tails', or, 'Enable Pointer Shadow' either, that will delete your mouse icon in game for the trail image, or shadow.

I am having the same issue right now, none of the suggestion work... Am stuck.

So changing the mouse settings didn't work.
Applying show cursor with CTRL doesn't work for Avorion, it does for everything else ???
I already had 'Display pointer tails', or, 'Enable Pointer Shadow' disabled.
Updated/changed my monitor driver to my manufacturer, didn't work.

Idk what to do at all... very difficult to play game without the cursor...

you hold the shift key for you to acces the menu then the mosue crussor woill show up. also yes the mosue cosor despareing is in fact intensnal by the way. its so it doent go off the screen all the time when you want to fly the ship with mosue and keybord so it hides the mmosue corsor and locks it untill you hold down the sift key so your ship won't have issues sudddlny unlable to trune wit the mosue flying of the game or geting stuuck in teh side of the screem when sueing mosue and keybord mode. os thats not a bug its just how it is. yes annyong i know but its how it is becasue of how a game like this works kinda doesnt want you mosue geting stuck on the side of the screen and hides it fomr aiming and moveing with it like any otehr comptuer game that uses the mosue and keybaord to do things. its so you can control the ship and aim with it wihout haveing issues of the mosue sudenly geting stuck if its not hhiden and locked. this is a know thing alot of vied ogame on desktops have to deal with. there alos using the fleet tactal view mode if you don't want to deal with that that alows you to play this game liike a 4x real time staragy and tactal game by the way. so yes that mosue being hidden is in fact 100% internsal by the dev also alot of otehr viedo game do this too whne needed. its just avrion has to do this far far far more whe nyour flying your ship whne not useing a catapn or doering it in the rts mode. yes its intensal.

it could also your sueing a progam on widnwos and linux that might mess with how the crussor is being told when to render and not redner and interact wit avrion bacly. if thers a progam that farcing the corsor to hind when your mose is in the game window by delfat then its giong to conlfigth with averons albty to hide and unhide the mosue corrsor bescue avrion has very very spical requrments that need your mouse to not be over riden by anytthing else so you can actly play avrion allreay needing to hide and unhide th mosue for keybord and mouse ship controls. any progame that foces and overrides avrion is giong to conlict and give you a bad time. yes that alos what i could see happeing with some thrid party mosue and mosue corsor thrid party progams on windos for costaztion of that stuff cloud rely end up fighting each oterh on who can do what. also avrion doest like thing overridaing it if invoeld hdeing and unhiding and lcoknig the mosu if any progame try to over wite it it could end up in a stuck seting loop or conlfct that yould make it a issue. so if your palyngh tiwh avrion don't use naything that messes or override the mosue crosser or anything like that asa thrid party progam that overrids that sistem dealt behavor is giong to conlect wit haviron very badly.
