First mod game. Help

I want start a modded game, but after the update and reading some comments, some mods seems not working fine. Any mod recommendations or something for first mod game?

Also - just a bit of the sausage making, in the mod settings file you can say what versions of the game it works for. And if the mod isn't the right version for the game then the game will red it out and give you warnings.

So for instance I really like Nyrin's boss timers mod, but he said it would work up to something like version 2.2.* and so now the game will complain and red it out in the mods list ... but it works perfectly fine. Just tell the game yes you really mean it when it asks if you're sure.

So 'some mods don't work' is _usually_ wrong. Except for weapon mods, the overwhelming majority of which are broken because their creators don't bother looking at the game log which is screaming at them.

Off the top of my head I like:

Nyrin's boss timer mod
QoL mod (for the rings on the map)
No Cooldowns (no cd) - I played single player so I see no reason to arbitrarily wait around while the game ticks down a timer

I used to use mining mods - but as I learned more about how the game works I found them unnecessary and I basically grew out of them.

Sometimes I make a mod of a mod. E.g. I really liked the Adventurer subsystem, but I wanted to make it compatible with r-mining, so I did that, and then later on they changed how object detection worked (for supporting the rifts content), but I preferred the original way so I reverted that in my version of the Adventurer subsystem.

Also I made a mod so that right at the beginning of the game when the Adventurer gives you a subsystem he also dumps about 40 whites and grey junk items on you, because I think it's the sort of thing a 'high level' NPC would do. E.g. here, you throw this away. As a mod it serves no real useful purpose, I just find it funny.
