in case of torpedos:
torpedos can be dropped by pirates but you need to have enough torpedo storage build in your ship.
in order to launch them you need torpedo ramps
load the ramps up in the menu and launch the torpedos with "g"
you will be able to buy them from ressource depots if you get closer to the galaxys center
A way around this is paradoxically don't build any torpedo storage. When you pickup dropped torpedoes with no storage, they will instead be automatically loaded into the first free tube. Since tubes always have storage for 8 torpedoes no matter how small they are, you can just slap 10 torpedo tubes on your ship and have storage for 80 torpedoes without having to worry about setting their load options. Sure, you might start wasting torpedoes as you can easily launch a volley of 10 at a single target, but what do you care? You didn't pay for them.
The launcher you have to build into your ship (not a weapon per se, but more of a block) I usually build 10 launcher and set each one to one type cause I am LAZY!!! ;)
So when I pick random missile/torpedoes, I use them and shoot them back. the downside is that I launch all 10 (if I have all 10 type) but it was free so I do not care too much.
note: I usually use missiles on larger enemies and stations
Additional note: I notice that if you use "auto attack" command (kill all enemies) the AI uses only ONE of the bay... which is nice I guess.
but the "cooldown" after launching applys to all tubes - but to be honest i also love to have a complete salvo of torpedos going out
especially in at least 4 different directions and then watch how they hit the target from all sides
i was not even aware of the existence of missle tureet and just dioscovered the rocket tureet in encyclopedia
yes i wanted to make a macross missile massacre show
but im disaponted they dont need gunners
why the devs decided than torpedo are a diferent kind of weapon ?
is a rocket a componement for turret or an ammo ?
management can find torpedo where their is none ?
actually i have a single million and i wonder when i will start to make station and asteroid mine for changing
if the torpedo was able to bring money more quickly i will spend on them but i doubt...maybe they raise the % of sucess of management mission enought for worth their cost ?
maybe i will restart a game and try to use only galaxy map for compare the time to raise money
try searching for "missile factory" on your galaxy map
some trading posts or smuggler hideouts may sell em
yes they are costly
you can also use a smuggler or trader captain and send him on a shopping mission to get missiles
Missiles are used as a ingredient for rocket launchers in weapon factorys
you may see some when you reach the trininuim area and with luck in the naonite area
so the question was about torpedo
and r-miner also : if we dont get enought by loot how to procure?
is it available i shoping missions?
once i get a r-miner of low level and was able to clone it and not stingy for manufacture many but it was once and never found else few high level that my area canot clone
It is randomly generated and refresh automatically (there is a timer on it)
i just did so i will know it soon
