i didnt tried it yet but they said with the latest beta branch update you can eliminate factions, idk if this works for pirates.

as for headhunters, dont stay in a faction sector where they dont like you, and they will not show up. this also means pirate bases.
my best way to deal with them is simply kill them. on higher diff. you prop. have a problem since there is a HD blocker everytime, try to kill him and jump to friendly sectors, they will help you.

I don't know but by the gods do I want to burn every last headhunter to ash. Really annoying that allied territory ships won't help you at all either. Damn bastards are the bane of my existance. Really annoying that only alliances can declare war on them too.

I think if you are allied to a faction, you can buy a chip that will call allied reinforcement. I don't think I tried it against the Head Hunters specifically, but I think they should help you.

If you want to avoid them, stay away from hostile territory, even if you are not inside a hostile territory, the Head Hunters will appear so stay away lol.

If you decide to fight them, make sure you have enough point defense turrets, they like to abuse the torpedoes. Try to destroy the Interdictor, the ship with the interdiction sign on it, it's the one that block your Hyperspace and the "weakest" from what I saw, that way you can escape if the battle don't go your way.

Other than that, those ships are supposed to be a challenge, they are hard to kill, my advise is to always make sure you salvage new turrets, and don't hesitate to use the scrapyard and turret stations to make better turrets, on average, building your own turrets is better than the ones you loot.

I often have a second ship that come with me, I load it with Point defense guns, and LOTS of armor and shield, so the enemy attack it instead of me, giving me the opportunity to deal more damage before been hit.

Actually cant get that headhunters mechanics in game. Game hints you that headhunters can be sent after you by a hostile faction if you travel their territory. But why headhunters are attacking me in a friendly faction's territory?

My situation is that another player in the same alliance made a war at one faction and now headhunters are after us when we somewhere close to that faction, that at war with us. Is there only one way to get rid of them - negotiate a ceasefire so to not be at war? Or just not get close to their territory?

Not get close to their territory, or I believe ceasefire/not be at war and not be hated.

Thank you. It was that effect, you know, when you are formulating your question to ask someone then you are forced to think more about it and you almost can answer it yourself :idglass: But may be someone know a way to stay at war and fly nearby but make headhunters stop chaising you? Probably not because now it has sense.

All that seems irrelevant. I still get headhunters after me despite never leaving allied territory.

You're in allied territory... but how far away from the hostile territory are you?

Shoot them? Just a suggestion.

if you are near an enemy territory, Headhunters will come for you, sadly it's part of the game mechanic and I don't think there is an efficient way to avoid them beside staying away from factions at war (including pirates)

However, they are not invincible, and they can bee a good source of loot if you defeat them. If you don't want the hassle to build your own ship, there are plenty of ships available on the workshop, even if used as decoy, having a second ship (controlled by AI) will help a lot as the enemy will draw some of it's firepower away from you.

Hostile Territory? What Hostile Territory. Blew up all the bandits to get rid of any that was around and that's litterally all I've ever been at war with. No matter how deep in you stay Head Hunters have been a permenant burden since the start and still are.
