Looking for a good hosting server

Got a group of 10 peeps that are having issues with loads of drag and we're assuming it's the server we're using. Anyone got a good alternative they are using?

It's...not your server. I direct-connect with a few friends every now and then, on a rig rated for VR gaming, and it still struggles to achieve anything less than 30k ms ping.

Someone once mentioned that the data sent is uncompressed. Might that be part of the problem?

Either way, beware of server owners who promise to "fix" this issue for you. By the time you realize they were lying, they already have your money. There was a scammer on Reddit trying to push this misinformation not too long ago. I asked how they were able to resolve the high ping issue and never received a response. Naturally, they were "asking for donations to cover costs" for the server fees. Uh huh. I bet.

Just wanted to say here that there are indeed better or worse providers. I haven't been into renting servers for quite a bit, so sadly can't tell you which is which but you definitely have to check where your server is hosted from. Which provider are you using? The game itself is recommending a provider (you can see it ingame - can't remember which one it was), have you tried that one?

The comparison with the "rig rated for VR gaming" is nonsense because different things are relevant for VR and server hosting lol. If you have 30k ping there is something else wrong with your server.

i was getting massive lag for while when ever i would be on the ship i had launching fighters but now it seems to rarely happen, i made a point of only joining a server if i could get a ping as close to 50 as i could ,most times i would only have refresh once or twice before joining,i'm currently playing on Gods fortress its a 50 player server and i have experienced very little lag
