can I move a mine to another sector
and how?

Someone mentioned something about towing. I thought I can tow it with one of my ships, but thats not an option. So I tried installing drives just it is never enough thrust. My ship is actually heavier than my mine, yet it just runs on half the engine I made for the mine.

Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

There is a move mode for mines and starbases. You need to activate it first, then you will be able to tow it where you want to relocate.

Select your base and press F to "talk" to it. You should see the option in the list.

Before you put it into transport mode - save the design. Then replace its design with something small (1-2 sockets). It'll be much easier to drag around.

Then when you get it to where you want it to be and it's not in transport mode anymore, restore the original design.

There's no 'tax' for taking design X switching to design Y and then switching back to design X.

I put it into transport mode but nothing happened there. I have not built anything on it so there is nothing really to save. What I dont know is how to get to drag it around?

Add a dock to your ship. As the loading screen tip says, the bigger the dock, the more towing power.

I found a guide and hope that works, thanks anyways.

Hmm that guide was just for moving rather than towing.

I found a way to dock. There is a c showing for docking when the docks of ship and station line up.

But my ship is too small to do it. Not enough thrust and I can not just add bigger engines because I am at the limit of the size already. I have turned two huge cargo bay's into engines and turned every nanite structure back into titanium, because it is lighter, but it made no difference.

Yea I read that but I have quite a few of crew on it and cba to frickle around with the quarters again. Also I didnt think it would make much of a difference considering I didnt add much and how much I needed in terms of speed and maneuverability.

Having too many crew for a ship don't really do much in the long run. I have no clue why this feature even exist. Sure, on a ship they'll eventually refuse to work and you'll end up with a deficit but that will never stop you from actually operating the ship. So I would simply do just that; save your current station design, move the station around where you want it then rebuild the saved design. Can't think of a lasting negative impact on your station.

K, I'll try it tomorrow. It is late here already and I just have spent hours on rebuilding the ship I bought because they build them all hollow and I want that hollow filled with power equipment and shields.

.... You bought a ship? What?

Personally, I just go to the workshop and download designs I like. Most designers are intelligent enough to leave framework in the ship, which you can use to customise whatever you want to do with it.

I dont know how it works, never did anything with the workshop.
In my current game I have no access and I read somewhere that I have to do that before I start a game.

Didnt look into it yet.

You are posting here so I assume you aren't playing offline. And by offline, I don't mean singleplayer but really physically disconnecting your computer from the internet (or using a firewall might work I guess). Because if you do that then you can't access the workshop, which is on Steam; you need to keep your connection to Steam thru the game for that functionality to work.

Otherwise, you go on this game page on steam (or you click on it in your library) and you select the workshop link from there. Then browse to your hearth content and select whatever you want. It will automatically download itself in your Steam account and you will be able to use it in game after that. You might need to restart your game for everything to be loading in tho.

Also, a little bit of obvious: if you are the kind of guy who play the game to build your own designs then this will be of little value to you. What might be of higher value to you is that some people made and shared packs of pre-made stuff you can use to copy and paste around when you build. I'm not really a builder so I don't do that stuff but I know it exist.

I would play offline because then one device that needs power could be turned off but I have too many questions so I cant. Atm I just do single player because half of the time I dont know what I'm doing and I am not really fast with my decisions either.

It is also hard to imagine to play with someone when they always have to manage they're other ships.

So I have to add the workshop in Steam. IC. Thx. But I read I can not get the workshop ships into an old game and I dont really want to start over again so there is that.

I might want to have my own designs but I am too lazy and the editor is so uncomfortable to use because there is no real free movement that I prefer premade at this point. Also it saves loads of time.

Management of all the things we can do would be much easier if there would be recognizable sounds for every occurrence but since there is not I am missing a lot because that squeaking sound does not make me look up too often.

No, the workshop is a feature which exist on Steam for all games, then devs of particular games activate it for their own games. What you need to do is browse it for games which has it activated and select piece by piece whatever is on there. Some game workshops have thousand upon thousand different items (which are often called mods, but for this game it is mainly for ship designs) so it is done this way so you only download on your computer what you actually need instead of gigabytes upon gigabytes of additional content you will more than likely never use.

Feel free to start a new thread solely for you to ask question if you feel like it. I'm pretty sure it would beat risking derailing already existing threads.
