The others are obtained thorugh different methos rn, and you need to get on zones where the ore can be found.
-Buying it from a faction shipyard with enough rep
-Buying it from a smugglers den
-Buying it from a Resource depot
-Fighting pirates
-Hacking it from a container or finding it on stashes.
However the _genuinely_ fiddly PITA about the whole unlocking thing is that you can't just kill any old pirates, you have to kill the pirates at a certain radius from the centre.
E.g. to kill pirates to get naonite knowledge you have to kill pirates in the naonite region (crazy I know).
Caveat #1: what _you_ think is the naonite region is not necessarily what the game thinks is the naonite region
Caveat #2: what the game thinks is the naonite region is not necessarily the same for different aspects of the game.
So what you do is charge blindly forth into the darkness. And eventually a mission will pop up that says naonite building knowledge yada yada. And if you _track_ that mission it will tell you a bunch of ways to unlock the knowledge OR it will tell you you need to fly closer to the centre of the galaxy.
If it's telling you you need to fly closer to the galaxy - no amount of pirate killing will get you the unlock. EVERYONE who struggles to unlock ♥♥♥♥ is ignoring this notification.
Caveat #3: some pirates won't drop it when you clear their sector. Most do, but I think the obvious exception is those sectors where two bunches of pirates are fighting each other
(because that would be too easy, duh) :D
Similarly, if you want to buy it from a shipyard or smugglers den you have to find a shipyard or smugglers den _at the correct radius_, which the _game will tell you if you let it_.
:D
Good luck.
Also, using resources looks incredibly cheap, but I can't get it to work, I think it's _massively_ bugged.
Smugglers are (a) all over the map in vast abundance and (b) don't require positive reputation (I think they just don't have to hate your guts). So if you can produce craploads of money its super-easy to buy it from them.
IIRC naonite knowledge was like 8 mil at the smuggler den.
But well, Trinium and above easily got 90% efficiency on Rare items, with the right prefix, so getting into Xanion is no big deal.
//Slaps forehead.
D'oh!!!
I didn't even consider that's what it might have been!
Thanks!
Use the explore mission with an Explorer captain and you can find hidden masses with pirates. That way you don't have to fly around to random hidden masses. Doing this I've always found pirate sectors in Avorion space.
my fav, way of getting pirates is just mining in a pirate sector, they hate that :)
you get free ressources and here and there some pirates to clap
