you can find/loot turrets, buy turrrets at the equietmentdock or built some in the turretsfactory with a blueprint
Every Dock/Factory have an other bored
i have tried the 1 turret factory i found and it tells i need components i have no idea where to get (the 1 turret supply only had 2 of the 4 i needed) so no dice there.
i have heard about 'researching' and such but that seems a bit much just to progress along
this may be a game stopper, i like the game so far but i am not into RNG for progression when it may take 10+ hours at EACH level.
Note: i have been in the Zanion area for the 10 hours hoping to get a mining turret for zanion
Note 2: i have 2x 6 slot ships updated to Trinium and over 100k each matts to that point plus over 2million credits and i am stuck?
Look for a scrapyard. You can scrap turrets for components. Try scrapping the same type weapons, though, as what you want to build (mining for mining, cannons for cannons, etc). This should get you the components you need to build some.
So i have to backtrack all the way to these to 'hopefully' get the stuff i need?
or i guess i can backtrack to the equipment dealer (in the titanium area) and continue to relog 'hoping' for a trinium or better mining turret?
both seem like a clunky way to get a NEEDED upgrade but i will try
1) Look for a Turret Factory station. Each one will offer different stats, so might be worth it to ship around - and the closer to the center the higher the material the turrets they craft will be. This will yield very good turrets.
2) Equipment Docks refresh their inventory every time to load back into the sector they reside in (or exit game and reload). Eventually they'll offer what you're looking for, but it may be lower quality.
There should also be a lot of salvage yards in closer to the barrier itself. Each time I play, I easily discover several salvage yards.
Either you're not doing enough exploration/combat or you got *extremely* unlucky. In my first 20 hours of my new galaxy, since 1.0, I have about ~15-20 turret factories uncovered. Also, I'm looting mining beams, at least one or two of various types and materials, probably every other battle.
@FuryoftheStars yes i gathered that which is why i have been exploring the zanium area, but at this point i have no other reason to explore this area other than finding a turret, im basically 'caught up' to this point with nothing left to do untill i get the turret i need
i will try some more but like i said 10+ hours trying to loot what i need so far is a bit much - will look for salvage and turret factories, these seem more reasonable to me
Avorion is a game about 'going to the center'. Of course, nothing is forcing you to head that way(unless, you know, you want to complete the game), but there are a lot of things that will generaly lure you towards migrating closer in, appart from that one mission which forces you the other way(no spoilers).
Again, this is my personal opinion, but if you are in the iron zone for over 3~4 hours, you probably aren't progressing as fast as the devs expected you to, so you are having a bit of a 'stale' game. I highly advise you to be more adventurous, and head closer to the core.
By doing that, not only are you doing yourself a favor by opening up possibilities for better materials, weapons, tools and system upgrades, but you will also spice up your game. Facing shields with a crappy set of iron or low-grade titanium weapons will 'do you a frighten', which is in my opinion a good thing. This will push you back a bit, so you can prepare for the new chalange, and then you can proceed with moving in closer to the center.
With the amount of time I played, i think it should kind of be a '2 steps fowards, 1 step back' gameplay, which can bring great satisfaction, and you, I'd expect, want that from a game.
Of course, once you are more experienced player, you can set off doing whatever you want, giving yourself aditional chalanges, playing on harder difficulty, seting some limits.
But for your first playthrough, I really think you should let the game pull you in(all puns intended).
Or you know, you might be the type which levels up his starter pokemon to lvl 100 before proceeding with the first gym. That's a bad way of having fun(to me personally).
If you've spent a long while in trinium space and have yet to find a trinium mining beam (which facilitates mining of Xanion and below) - then, as I mentioned before, you've had incredibly bad luck and/or you haven't spent enough time revealing faction-owned sectors or in combat. Mining beams are not rare - be it from loot, equip docks or crafted at turret stations. Typically, a few pirate infested hidden mass sectors usually yield 1 or more mining beams of the relative materials.
In saying you're caught up - I assume that means you have all the Xsotan artifacts, you've finished all the story missions/bosses up to this point and possibly built a mine/station network for income and/or component production? As in, there is simply nothing left for you to do until you can mine Xanion? I ask this because it's hard to imagine you've done all that and still haven't come across a mining beam capable of harvesting Xanion.
i will try some of the suggestions given but you just saying i am not doing it 'right' is not really a help here ty anyway
