Cannot Raise Faction Relations

I've gotten a faction to 80,000 relations. But the relations is still 'Good'. I've tried selling/buying items/ores + Completed Missions but nothing seems to be working. I don't have the 'Negotiate Alliance' button either.

Anyone know whats up with this?

Selling/buying/basic missions can only get you so far iirc. I think the last 20,000 has to be from slaying pirates in allied sectors and other more specialized ways. Where the 'Negotiate Alliance' button appears also depends on the faction; Some require maxing out to 100k, others i think i've seen as low as 85k.

Yeah there's a limit to something like 80% of maximum where you stop getting reputation at a certain point. Only specific missions (not basic trade ones) will raise it further. Used to be the free slaves mission was the go-to but they nerfed the frequency of it, used to be you could get 4 in a single sector. Otherwise you just have to farm pirates in their sectors.
